“Delighted for Chris” – Harry Kane hopeful Christian Eriksen returns to form with Brentford

By Eddie Razo -

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen made his footballing return this past weekend for Brentford during their match against Newcastle United. The 30-year-old played 38 minutes for The Bees, providing a key pass in his time on the pitch.

With Eriksen back in the Premier League, Kane spoke with BT Sport (via Football.London) about seeing his former teammate back on the pitch. The 28-year-old is happy to see the Denmark international get significant playing time.

“Delighted for Chris. Hopefully, he is able to get on and play some minutes and get back to Premier League football,” Kane said.

“Everyone still remembers the day in the summer. To have him back so quick is a special feeling. Hopefully, we can go and watch it somewhere and hopefully see him come on.”

Eriksen had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) installed following the cardiac arrest he suffered at Euro 2020. However, the device prohibits him from playing in Serie A due to their regulations.

Soon after leaving the Italian club last year, Eriksen signed on with Brentford on a short-term deal during the January transfer window deadline day.

Furthermore, Eriksen will play against his former Tottenham teammates when Spurs travel to Brentford Community Stadium in late April for their matchup against The Bees.
