Dele Dropped From West Ham Match

By The Boy -

Breaking news from the Evening Standard, who suggest that Dele Alli will not feature in this afternoon’s big London Derby against West Ham. Why not? I suggest the reasons are pretty obvious, José Mourinho is still waiting for the little chat they had on the All or Nothing documentary to sink in, and we have another match on Thursday night, against LASK, in the Europa League.

Not getting a place in today’s game will certainly grind Dele’s gears and that’s nothing shy of good news. The boy needs to be motivated, and with Giovani Lo Celso out, then this puts Dele behind virtually every other Tottenham midfielder, even Gedson Fernandes. I did warn readers a few weeks ago that I felt that Dele’s humiliation was not quite complete.

IF the 24-year-old is to be selected for the Europa game, it goes without saying that it is imperative he make an impact.

Looks like Dele hasn’t woken up to the fact he needed to get with Jose’s programme. You could forgive Messi at 23 for being ‘lazy’, but Dele is no Messi and young Lionel wasn’t lazy. My only issue is Lo Celso has more injuries than Darren Anderton.

Totally agree, the fans dictate the home advantage. Without them there is still an advantage with familiar surroundings and a lack of travel but these are not as influential as what the fans offer their team. Our new retail emporium home was hardly a fortress with fans though, I would hazard a blind guess that our Wembley record was better. Still, this should be a win against this bunch from Mos Eisley.

5 weeks is a heck of a long time in football, and no he’s not starting.

With a full stadium I think it’s unlikely that Chavs v Saints game ends 3-3. The lack of a crowd, especially away is a blessing. Less pressure.

There could be a pattern emerging, we beat Utd away by a big score, they then go away to Sid James Park and win 0-4. I’m not saying it’s relevant to all games but it seems these places that were so hard to go to away might lack the advantage they had full up with fans.

I hope it’s not to the Spammer’s advantage today!

Bale played a full game for Wales over 5 weeks ago when not half fit, which is when he picked up his injury against Bulgaria. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts today, he’s more forward than is thought.

Bale will likely come on from the bench at some stage. He hasn’t started for a bit anywhere so will be introduced gently.
Not surprised by Dele, he’s becoming more of an impact sub under Mou. He’s dropped down in the pecking order, but at least he’s still part of the plans.

Critical of Chelsea for shipping goals against the Saints, Tino Werner
nailed it for saying what we did not already know that it’s defences that win titles not attacks!

Given that his cushy comfort zone days are over and fall out with Jose hardly surprising in the circumstances. In a match we clearly need to win what is surprising if Bale is on the bench!
