Clement Lenglet is still waiting for Tottenham to agree a deal with Barcelona as per the latest report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Spurs signed Lenglet on loan from Barcelona last summer who was considered to be a stop-gap signing at that time after the club failed to sign any of their top priority centre-backs.

But it seems that the 28-year-old left a lasting impression on the club’s hierarchy who are now interested in signing him on a permanent deal but on a reduced price.

It was reported a week ago that Barcelona centre-back has agreed personal terms with Tottenham ahead of a summer move

Barcelona president Joan Laporta also confirmed talks with Tottenham stating that the two clubs will reach an agreement over a permanent move for the Frenchman.

The Spanish side are struggling financially and are looking to cash in on the players that are not in the plans of Xavi Hernandez.

The report claims that the centre-back is ‘waiting’ for Tottenham to come to an agreement with Barcelona over his transfer fee. The report adds that the deal is taking a little longer than previously thought.

Tottenham are expected to sell the likes of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez this summer with new faces set to be signed as replacements.

Besides Lenglet, they are also strongly linked with Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a reasonable fee for the 28-year-old defender.
