This is a huge coup from Tottenham and could be one of the signings of the summer.
They have signed one of the best attacking midfielders in the league for just £40m which is a bargain.
Maddison, widely regarded as one of the league’s premier attacking midfielders, will bolster Tottenham’s squad for a relatively modest fee.
With 55 goals and 41 assists in 203 appearances across all competitions for his current club, Maddison has consistently delivered exceptional performances in recent years.
Should the deal go through, this is going to be their third signing of the summer having already secured the signing of Dejan Kulusevski and Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The London club successfully fended off competition from Newcastle United, who were also strongly interested in securing the services of the talented England international, who contributed to 19 goals last season.
