Regrettable news from inside Hotspur Way it would appear. Danny Rose is frustrating transfer talks out of Tottenham.
A source close to the club tells the Harry Hotspur blog that Rose has been less than proactive when it comes to finding a suitor. Left out of the preseason jolly to the Orient, it was painfully clear to Danny his services were no longer required.
Everton have made an excellent offer, yet Rose is said to be very slow to enter into meaningful discussions.
Rose’s current deal sees him at Tottenham Hotspur until the summer of 2021.
The 28-year old knows he can’t run to the press again. Whilst some fans may still hold a candle for Doncaster boy, more of the ‘nobody understands me’ flannel will render Rose too toxic for anyone to touch in the top half of the Premier League.
So what to do about Danny? It will be interesting to see how this plays out. It’s certainly not a scenario we are likely to learn anything from. We already knew footballers made for lousy politicians (hello, Sol Campbell).
Things in football can change fast in football. Hopefully Rose has another gear, and we can all move on with our lives, eh?
