Ralf Rangnick, Max Allegri and Rafa Benitez have emerged as possible candidates to be the next Tottenham manager as Daniel Levy goes for experience over youth in his managerial search.
Spurs are looking for a new boss after they fired Jose Mourinho and it hasn’t been an easy one.
They sacrificed a manager who played beautiful attractive football but had won nothing for one that was supposed to guarantee them silverware when they replaced Mauricio Pochettino with Mourinho.
However, the Special One’s time at the helm ended in disaster as he won no trophies and left them with the possibility of not playing European football next season despite the money they spent on signing players for him.
The club is now facing a dilemma on the type of manager they should consider next.
They have been linked with the likes of Graham Potter, Scott Parker and Eddie Howe in recent weeks.
But Mail Sport says they will choose an experienced boss over those English managers.
Benitez has won the Champions League, Europa League, La Liga among other trophies.
Allegri won multiple Serie A titles and Rangnick has been considered a master builder of football teams for his work with the likes of Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.

He doesn’t care about the club, only about boosting the financial asset that is Enic. If he cared about the club, he would stand down and appoint somebody to run it as a football club, not a property company.
☺️
Apparently just Timo Werner – a good player who couldn’t score in a brothel – cost Chelsea 47.6M, which equals our total summer outlay.
But they didn’t stop there, they also got Silva and Sarr for free, Mendy (22M), Chilwell (50M), Ziyech (33M) and Havertz (72-75M, depending on your sources). Which is why they will likely compete for the title next season, while we sell Kane and Son.
Lol. Exactly.. Loved him 15 years ago. Thought he should have played more for us and England.
I was being sarcastic,hehehe.
Well if it is Mason,I absolutely despair. That will be proof if any more was required that Levy cares fcuk all about the club.Spurs fan my arse.
That money would buy just one player for City or Chelsea.. Hitchen I’m suprised he got the job and is still in it.. He didn’t exactly improve Derby before coming back to us.
He’s 52
Never going to happen – I fully expect Mason or Rafa for next season.
Football.london say our net spend for the summer transfer window was just under 48M. (approx. 60M expenditures, a shade over 11M incomes). For that, we got Doherty, Reguilon, Rodon and Hojbjerg plus two loans and Hart on a free. Add to that Bergwijn in the winter window (Lo Celso was arranged during Poch’s time), and you have the backing Jose received.
Reguilon, Rodon and Hojbjerg have a future here, Stevie B might, the others not so much (at least I hope so). This is the problem when you don’t sign players regularly – you neglect the squad to a degree where you need to sign eight players that will all hit the ground running and make a positive contribution immediately.
Will that ever happen as long as we rely on Mr “I hate my job” Hitchen for scouting?
He is one of the few I would like mate.. He handled everything at Newcastle with dignity.. Not sure if he would want another Mike Ashley type owner though.
Maureen spent about 60 million I believe.. He was not backed with time or money.. Same as Botch.. Same as Schnapps… Levy doesn’t back his managers.. No top manager would want to work for him now…… I wouldn’t mind Benitez personally.
It’s a poisoned chalice job.
He would… We wouldn’t.
Now we are talking. he can bring in one of my old favourites “Woy” or “Fat Sam” or how about a curved ball “Steve Bruce”
All very experienced.
Defoe just scored a fourth for Rangers.Would he fancy a return?
Allegri won lots of silverware at Juventus, but like Mourinho he has always been backed with money to succeed. He’s not coming.
Benitez could be a goer though. He’s experienced and knows the PL obviously and would get them organised both defensively and attacking wise. It’s whether he was able to be shot of the deadwood and able to bring in his own players.
I understand he wouldn’t appeal to a lot of fans, but he knows what success is about.
Apparently Rangnick is a proponent of the “geggenpress” so i can’t see our snowflakes liking his appointment.
Good a reason as any.
We should go for Rangnick because he sounds like something out of an Avengers film 😁
