“Daniel Levy is Daniel Levy though” Pundit cannot see Nuno Santo surviving at Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Kevin Campbell believes Nuno Espirito Santo is going to be sacked by Tottenham at the end of this season because he will not get them inside the top six.

The Athletic revealed earlier in the month that Tottenham has a clause in his current deal that would see them sack him at the end of this season without compensation if they finish outside the top six.

With this in mind, Campbell thinks the former Wolves’ boss is playing a losing game and they will boot him out of the club at the end of this campaign because his team will not make the Europa League places.

The former Arsenal star believes Tottenham’s form and that of the clubs around them will see them struggle to end this season in at least the 6th position on the league table.

He believes the Lilywhites need continuity and faults their constant changing of managers, but also knows Daniel Levy will only do what he feels is best for the club.

Campbell told Football Insider: “I don’t think they will get top six.

“When you look at the teams around them, their form and the fact that they didn’t finish in the top six last season – it doesn’t bode well. Yes, they have finished their previously but this league is relentless. Teams are strengthening left, right and centre. Anyone can beat anyone so it is not a given.

“Wouldn’t this just be typical. They don’t finish in the top six, he’s trying to build something and they get rid of him for somebody else. That would be typical.

“You need continuity sometimes. Daniel Levy is Daniel Levy though. He is going to do what he wants.

“There seems to be a lot of issues at that football club. What is going on behind those corridors?”

Yes, that is how the PL authorities and the UK govt want it. The English title race a closed shop between murderous sheikhs and state asset strippers.

Spurs are going to be locked out of top 4 now regardless of the quality of their youth set up. Ferguson would never have been knighted had he been competing with Saudi, UAE, and Russian gas-oil oligarchs.

The jigs up all right, same as Chelsea and Manchester City did for Wenger’s Emirates dream of dominating the Premier League, Newcastle will do the same for Levy’s stadium dream.

Ronaldo was brought in to win the Champions League at huge expense. A failure I think in that case.

Last window was too slow again… But Romero is a stellar signing.. Pape Sarr looks exciting.. And Gil also has potential, the lad can play and will evolve for sure.

Baldy has spent money in recent times, just on the wrong players. How much is he really involved in the footballing decisions? I can’t believe it’s Levy scouting players and building his own teams, or else we’d be relegated by now.. I blame Hitchen and all our scouts… A competent DOF and decent scout set ups from the youth up are essential for any club in my opinion.. These are the first issues Sir Alex addressed at Manure.. Benficas acadamy is amazing, poach quality scouts like these.

I’d have more faith that a DOF could do his job if Levy didn’t hold the purse strings and keep interfering.

I’m no fan of Nunos interviews or style of play, but still, any manager deserves time. Talks of sacking a month in is just daft. I would prefer to see players gone before our manager.. Paratici also needs time… There were mixed emotions about Paratici when I spoke to a couple of Old Lady fans. There was no problem about the quality of players he signed in his 3 years in charge there. (After Marotta left). He even got them Ronaldo.. Their gripe was his failure to address the right areas. Apparently they needed full backs and he was buying wingers and midfielders that weren’t really needed.

Wolves did give Nuno the continuity Kevin Campbell is demanding for him, then called time on him last summer. He seems to have failed upwards and landed the Spurs job solely on the basis of relationships with Paraticci and Jorge Mendes.

Obviously he will be gone soon enough as his limitations are reconfirmed. But I fear Levy will not admit his mistake in appointing Paraticci for many more years, during which time Paraticci will have lumbered the club with barrowloads more deadbeats and no hopers.

The sole consolation is that it will hardly matter anymore because the arrival of a super doped Newcastle is going to seal off top 4 even more effectively regardless of who Levy appoints and there will be next to no point in demanding more of him.
