Daniel Levy identifies striker with 59 goals as top target to replace Kane

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to a report from Sport Bild, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is the top choice of Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to replace Harry Kane, should the English striker leave the club this summer.

However, Bayern Munich have emerged as a strong contender for Kane’s signature, despite having an initial bid of £60 million rejected by Tottenham.

Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Kane has gone beyond the bid, as they have reportedly approached the player directly to discuss terms.

It is believed that Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel player a key role in convincing Kane to consider a move to the German giants.

The news of Bayern’s direct approach has reportedly angered Levy, who is said to be furious with the club’s behavior.

BILD reports that Levy intends to punish Bayern by demanding an even higher transfer fee for Kane.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have made an effort to keep their star striker by offering him a lucrative new contract, according to The Guardian.

However, Kane is in no rush to sign the deal and is considering all his options during the ongoing transfer window.

With the uncertainty surrounding Kane’s future, the report states that Tottenham have started working on alternative options and have identified Victor Osimhen as one of their top targets to replace the prolific striker if it comes to it.

Victor Osimhen has scored 59 goals and assisted 14 in 101 appearances for Napoli in all competitions.

And he was their key player in their title winning campaign this past season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.

However, the report suggests that Osimhen is not interested in a move to Spurs, as he does not believe they are a club where he can win titles.

Spurs will hope Kane’s future is sorted as soon as possible so that in case he leaves, they have enough time to find a replacement.
