Daily Mail reveals the three deals Tottenham wants to secure before the transfer window closes

The January transfer window closes in a little over two weeks, and Tottenham Hotspur has yet to make a move to improve their squad. However, it seems as though the north London club might not stay silent for long.

According to the Daily Mail (via Spurs Web), Spurs hope to pull off three new signings before the transfer window shuts on the 31st. The marquee deal that The Lilywhites wants to secure involves Wolverhampton Wanderers Adama Traoré.

Traoré is one of three deals that Tottenham wants to have wrapped up by the end of this month. Spurs are hopeful to grab the 25-year-old, who has been linked to other possible moves, as FC Barcelona is a club expressing interest in the Spain international.

Spurs are also keen on going after a striker who can serve as Harry Kane’s backup and a central defender when it comes to the other three potential signings. Whether any of these three deals can get done over the next two weeks remains to be seen.

Well we got rid of Markandy and there is a rumour that Lloris will extend his contract so not true that there has been no business. However, with less than 13 days left there is as usual nothing with regard to incomings except this Traore rumour which has been rumbling away seemingly for ever. He’s Spanish. If the guy has a choice to make between us and Barca what would you do? Surely this is turning out to be just another typical winter transfer window for Spurs?

Traore I think will be an upgrade on Lo No Show only for the fact he has a very good fitness record!

Honestly Arsenal have made the Premier League and FA look like the bunch of idiots they are.

Now if they had at least some balls, they should punish Arsenal. How that would be I don’t know but you cant moan about lack of players to play a game and then send another player on loan. That’s what the 3rd player they sent?

Force them to play the Liverpoll tie with kids if they have to and then see what Spurs could possibly do legally regarding the farcical postponement of the match,

Debatable that Wolves (60/1) are competing with us (2/1) for a CL spot, but even still it is a kid for 3m.

A winger as it happens. Almost like they have signed a replacement for one leaving

Villa are not around us, they are 13th. They are the same distance from us in points (10) as they are from Norwich, and that doesn’t even take innto account our games in hand.

Nobody chasing a CL spot has made a signing, not a sifnificant one anyhow

Realistically it is United, Arsenal, West Ham. None of which have made a signing that I know of, certainly not of any significance even if so. Ditto the outsiders of Wolves, Brighton, Leicester.

In fact, the only clubs that have are those languishing in the bottom half – as you’d expect in January when relegation is a fear.

People can have vaild concerns by all means, but lets not pretend everyone else is filling their boots

When have we ever had major january signings? Hardly ever happens in general. No one wants to lose the best players mid-season

What Paratici does, yes I’m not convinced either, but what the hell does Hitchens actually do to get paid his salary is bewildering, lots of people at this club stealing money imo.

I read your article on the Arsenal spurs postponement yesterday and was a little shocked. I’m certain we all understand that they are allowed to put in the request but shouldn’t the FA be asking them why they are sending players out on loan just prior to asking for a postponement. I mean even the following day they sent a player off on loan.
Now Burley next it’ll be Leicester for our game tomorrow. Honestly at this rate we won’t finish the season until the middle of next season

So far this is shaping up to be a typically underwhelming Levy transfer window. All talk and no action, with bucket-loads of hype generated by the media culminating in the inevitable reality that ‘we need to sell in order to buy’, because ENIC, in the form of Lewis and Levy, still have no intention of putting one penny of their combined $6 billion + personal fortune into the club.

Accordingly, we will continue to stagnate, Conte will become further disenchanted and potentially leave, due to lack of backing and then we will really be in the s***. Tell me I’m wrong? I’d like to be, but we have seen too much of this type of small-club mentality from Levy, the phony poverty pleading, the endless penny-pinching haggling, ending up with raw young prospects, second rate substitutes or just mid-table dross.

With the squads at their disposal you could argue the top three don’t need to strengthen anyway. If you’re talking about the teams around and below us there is already positive news coming from them,Villa for example.Nothing from us of course until probable 23.30pm.on the 31st.

THere is business to be done if you are interested, but we have Levy and Hitchens and Paratici in charge although I have yet to be convince of what Paratici actually does.I suspect he is keeping a low profile and he probably daren’t show his face in Italy what with the fraud investigation there ongoing.

If Traore is the marquee signing of the three God knows what dross we have lined up.

None of our rivals for a CL place have made a signing, or are close to.

Not to say we don’t have concerns, but we are in the same boat

Traore has one asset and that is his incredible pace. Other than that he is pretty much useless. Martin Keown is urging Arsenal to beat Spurs to Traore’s signature – let’s hope they do so.

Nothing seems to have changed having Paratici as the DOF. The signings of Emerson and Gollini echo previous poor signings such as Bergwjin, Lo Celso and the biggest waste of space we have ever purchased, Ndombele.

Transfer business, as always, moves at a snail’s pace with Lewis and Levy seemingly micromanaging Paratici and severely restricting his spending.

I agree, this is same-old same-old transfer window stuff from Spurs. Other teams that need to strengthen their squads have already made signings or are in-the-process-of making signings. Not Spurs, no sireee…What on earth do Spurs think Adama Traore will do for them. He is not having a good season at Wolves (who are a similar strength team to Spurs) and I do not place him higher in quality than Bergwijn or Lo Celso. I do concede that he is strong and is a good dribbler. I’m just not convinced he should be top of the ‘potential signings’ list.

No word on actually who this back up striker and defender is then?

Typical Daily Mail.Everybody knows where we need to prioritise strengthening the squad. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to select three areas of concern and make up a story.

This is going just like any other window for us and Leny now has 13 days to stop Conte from walking.I don’t see it somehow.

Marquee? Traore is more like a circus tent. From afar he looks amazing, but up close he has lots of holes.
