Daily ITK Analysis Feat. Castagne, Aarons & Çelik

By The Boy -

A new era of Spurs transfer activity is here and whilst I wouldn’t want to use crazy language such as ‘floodgates have opened’, however, at this stage there is a distinct change in the volume of information the doing the rounds, and the quality of said high-end gossip.

Truth be told, the previous failing regime had run out of optimism, impetus and hope. I take a view that Pochettino (who wasn’t without his faults) has been particularly reserved given the constraints that he faced in his last few seasons, which were frequently isolated.

A source close to the club tells me José Mourinho’s strategy is – on Levy’s terms – to give the squad the churn that has been so desperately needed. The acquisition of Højbjerg is hopefully just the beginning of some low-key yet quite ruthless rejigging that will gently reinvent Spurs’ in the gaffer’s image. Danny Rose’s recent interview is horribly detached from reality. The boy is toast. Toxic toast.

Timothy Castagne was mentioned in this place a good while ago, this is still very much a runner. This deal currently hinges upon wages. The player told The Standard back in June, “You have to be honest with yourself. When a team like PSG or Tottenham come knocking on your door, you can’t say ‘no’.” I have to say that I already like Castagne, not only does he bracket Tottenham alongside PSG, but he no longer rates Arsenal.

Max Aarons is very much still another contender, one that I get the impression from my source, that Daniel Levy is a fan of. Quite why is beyond me. In Aarons I see nothing to get excited about, I also see another ‘nice boy’.

Mehmet Zeki Celik is the last name in this particular frame and my understanding is that this transfer rumour is not entirely illegitimate, but close enough to it. This is a player that has been discussed, but talk about negotiations being this, that or the other are fiction.

He’s doing well out there. I always though he shoulda got more games. I’m not sure if its because he was a levy signing why poch never played him. Decent flanker he was. Bring him on against tired teams I would’ve. 70 mins.

to me as was quick, technically very good and not used anywhere near as much as he could have been and at the time something we really needed. Now he has gone elsewhere and played much more often, he looks pretty awesome.

Castagne makes sense, more than Aarons. How about Skriniar, the CB from Inter Milan, supposedly having fallen out of favour with Conte, but highly rated by Mourinho? Any word on our pursuit of him H?

it makes sense DL is a fan of Aarons. Young and English means he has a big upside in sell on value.
DL is a fan of upside in sell on value. fullstop.

Doesn’t it depress you when you have a manager/coach who has won the lot come in and you still see things like “DL is a fan of” some player

Matt Doherty of Wolves valued at the same price as Aurier, and maybe with no European football next season and at 28 years old he could be lured to Spurs. He has 75 pl app with 8 goals & 8 assists. He has been at Wolves for ten years and if he wants to play for a bigger club, now would be his chance.

Could Matt Doherty be lured away from Wolves now they have no European football next season? He is valued at the same as Aurier on Transfermarkt,he has 75 pl appearances with 8 goals & 8 assists. He has been at Wolves for 10 years and at 28 if he wants to play at a bigger club now would be the time to make a move.

Once the backs locked off we’ve got some dangerous attackers. We’ll be really good next season. Shocks in store. The old master ain’t done, he’s just starting. He’s gonna do a arsen/Alex. Stay a while. Josacramento

Nocluedo as I seem to remember him being named here looks an exceptional player now, poorly managed by us, was always clearly a real talent

Ageed, not impressed with Aarons. He reminded me of Sessignon making the step up from the Championship, not fully equipped yet.
His mate Lewis would be a better bet at LB,but probably not such a priority.
Castagne and Celik I don’t know but happily guided by those with knowledge of both or either. However home grown is probably better.

Celik would be the first choice, don’t know Castagne but I do remember Paolo Tremezzani – and I have a hunch he could make a similar impression – or lack of

I hope a little spending begins the squad needs refreshing badly .
I’ve always wondered if we can get in debt 900mil can’t we just make it 970mil or something? Like the shopping mall or not it will make money if covid goes away.

Levy likes a player that’s recommendation enough to run for the hills.
