Peter Crouch says that Spurs would only have a more serious rebuilding job to do than Arsenal if they lost Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, although he doubts that will happen.
Spurs have struggled with inconsistency this season, even though they have one of the most talented groups of players in the Premier League.
Tottenham added Gareth Bale to their squad in the summer and they expected him to make them title challengers.
They started the season well and were even at the top of the Premier League table at the end of last year.
This year has been disastrous for them and it has cost Jose Mourinho his job.
The Lilywhites will have to go back to the drawing board with a new manager in the summer to try to make things better next season.
Crouch was asked by a fan via his Daily Mail column if he thought the Lilywhites had a bigger rebuilding job to do than their bitter rivals, Arsenal and he explained:
“If Son Heung-min and Harry Kane left Tottenham this summer (not that I believe that will happen) it would be a huge challenge for my old club to try to start moving forward. Replacing two world-class players in one window would be next to impossible.
“But I look at Arsenal and I really worry. I was working at the Emirates on Sunday night and there was a police cordon outside the stadium when I got there, bracing themselves for more protests. I could not have more respect for Arsenal but I wonder where they are going.”
Crouch is not the quickest of cats.
Arsenal are closing in the difference between us and them worst case scenario to finish the league on top of us anything possible with Ryan on the wheel with a team full of flops.
Wonder how long till ‘Ryan gets sacked, see if he can hold out for 3 more cup finals..£60.00 to go watch that crap…no thanks
Let’s hope we “don’t do an Arsenal” and our fans turn like theirs…!!!
Or Pav…!
Being saved from “Doing a Leeds” was the jibe thrown at Spurs fans who saw through Levy and enic years ago. Oh how ironic that jibe is now.
We are just a hit and hope club. No direction no plan.
Thats worrying long term.
Just a london version of newcastle with a posh stadium to wow the retards
Or Berbatov and Carrick!
Replace Harry Kane and Son Heung Mín, I’m still waiting for them to replace Modric and Mousa Dembele.
