Could A £6M Discount On This Champions League Winner Suddenly Encourage Spurs to Snap Up this alleged Arsenal target?

By The Boy -

The Tottenham transfer rumour could well be an interesting deal that was a long time coming or a reheated TV dinner that is unlikely on this, perhaps the third time of microwaving to survive…

Tottenham have been linked with Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez since at least 2017, when the Daily Star broke the news in the UK that the right-sided midfielder was threatening to quit Los Blancos should they sign Kylian Mbappé, who was then linked with a move.

Mbappé opted for France, not Spain by means of a loan move to Paris St Germain, where he has remained and flourished ever since.

Needless to say, Lucas Vazquez hasn’t strayed from Real Madrid, where he has effectively been used as a squad player who has notched up plenty of game minutes from the bench.

In 2019, El Desmarque claimed that Spurs were interested in beating Arsenal to Vazquez.

Fast forward to the present and the Daily Express claim that Vazquez’ alleged valuation of £22million, could be shaved down to as little as £16million.

Vazquez is a decent enough player, but Tottenham has a surfeit of midfielders with question marks over their heads as it is. However, at least most of them have youth on their side, and Jose to coach them.

I take the view that all the tomato ketchup or A1 sauce in the world wouldn’t be sufficient to resuscitate this time expired TV dinner. Yes, the discount is good but fresher options are available.
