Conte signing could leave Spurs in a ‘potential exchange’ involving 31-year-old ace

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur signed Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan at the start of the season.

The 34-year-old has managed to hit the ground running at the London club and he has been a regular starter for them.

The Croatian international has one goal and 10 assists to his name across all competitions, and he is clearly an important first-team player for Tottenham. However, reports claim that the player could be on his way out after just one season at the club.

Former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was crucial to the 34-year-old’s arrival at the North London club, and it is no surprise that his departure has fuelled speculation surrounding the long-term future of Perisic.

It will be interesting to see if the Croatian international is looking to return to Italy at the end of the season.

A report from Inter Live claims that a return to the Italian club remains possible but it would be a ‘complicated’ deal. The report further states that there are two options that could facilitate the 34-year-old’s return to Inter Milan.

If Tottenham decide to give the player away, Perisic could return to his former club, or the two clubs could work out a ‘potential exchange’ involving the Croatian and Stefan de Vrij.

The 31-year-old Dutchman will be out of contract in the summer, and he is set to move on as a free agent.

Tottenham could certainly use more quality and depth at the back and the Dutchman could prove to be a useful acquisition for them.
