Tottenham Hotspur are thrilled with the immediate impact Lucas Bergvall has made since joining the club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are currently considering whether to bring in an additional midfielder before the transfer window closes.
Bergvall, who officially joined Tottenham last month on a five-year contract for a reported fee of £8.5 million, quickly impressed the coaching staff.
His standout performances during pre-season positioned him as a potential key player for the upcoming season.
Last season, while on loan in the Allsvenskan, Bergvall demonstrated his abilities by making 19 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
His versatility and football intelligence have made him a standout player, earning admiration from within the club, where he is seen as a valuable asset both now and in the future.
Romano suggests that the Tottenham management is still evaluating their options regarding further midfield reinforcements.
Despite the Swede’s impressive pre-season form giving manager Ange Postecoglou confidence in the current squad, the club remains open to the idea of adding another midfielder to enhance depth and competition in the centre of the pitch.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano said:
“They are very happy with Lucas Bergvall, the impact of Bergvall has been excellent, and they believe they signed a top, top talent for present and future, ready for Premier League impact.
“So they are still considering that internally.”
As the transfer deadline draws nearer, Tottenham are carefully weighing their options, considering the need for additional signings while recognising Bergvall’s readiness to contribute to the Premier League.
