Conflicting Inside Info: Spurs Atmosphere is Not “Chilled” Crisis Talks Underway

By The Boy -

Only yesterday the Harry Hotspur Blog brought you gossip from Football London that assured the fans that all was harmonious and peachy inside Tottenham Hotspur.

Alasdair Gold’s inside info now appears diametrically opposed to The Telegraph‘s Matt Law, who has a far less cheery tale to tell.

Laws’ account is without the warming revelation that Daniel Levy’s and Mauricio Pochettino’s offices are in the same wing at Hotspur Way.

Indeed, the Telegraph warns of discord and imminent seismic upheaval.

Tottenham is 14th in the Premier League and serving up the sort of football that is difficult to recognize, compared to the fast and furious pressing play fans adore.

The key takeaway from the Telegraph was that a Spurs’ loss at West Ham might well end Mauricio’s reign in N17.

Opinion: The truth is probably lies somewhere between the two accounts. It’s difficult to understand why anyone at Tottenham would brief a journalist that all is rosy when it isn’t.

As far as the negative stuff goes; there’s no smoke without fire.

The smoke/fire was true.. We dont know whats going on behind the scenes, thats the whole point of media… Im not sure anyone can rescue us under the shackles of leviathon.. More tough times ahead.. I cant get excited with maureens boring style, his interviews are more interesting to watch than his teams.. And all the other managers in the running either stink of mediocrity or are too good for us. Ancelotti i would like but cant see him coming.

In a time of excessive media, tv and internet coverage its tough to tell the truth with a lot of fake news and really poor journalism… But our results and position says it all we have big problems. We have the best english striker ever, and we are teetering above the relegation scrap now.. This isnt smoke we are seeing now, this is the full blaze burning, the flames are high

I agree – its always something in the middle (whats the saying, there are always 3 sides to the truth, your side, their side and the actual truth). I think to suggest Poch is safe…in 14th with 26 points from 20 games is crazy. To suggest he will be sacked for not beating West Ham is almost equally as silly. However, you cant ignore that unless the results turn around, Poch will have huge questions to answer and likely have to go, even if he turns it around he has moved from un-touchable to questionable. The only way Poch does not get the blame is if Levy takes some…so lets face it, in a meeting with Joe Lewis and Levy, its not hard to spot the scapegoat.
