Keenan Ferguson has confirmed via his Instagram account that he has joined Tottenham following a successful trial with the Premier League side.
He had been one of several under23 players that were released by Sheffield United at the end of the last campaign.
He joined Tottenham on trial and he impressed the club’s youth team handlers enough to earn a contract and a place in their Under23 team.
Ferguson, 20, did well as a right-back for the Sheffield United under23s last season, but he still became a victim of their summer overhaul.
Tottenham has lost Kyle Walker-Peters in this transfer window after the Englishman joined Southampton.
They have brought in Matt Doherty from Wolves and they still have Serge Aurier on their books, but the latter might be sold in this transfer window.
The length of contract that he has signed remains undisclosed, but he will no doubt hope that he shows enough to follow the likes of Japhet Tanganga into the Spurs first team.
Tanganga has become the latest proof that youngsters can earn a place in Jose Mourinho’s team if they can prove to be first-team material.
Ferguson is the club’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
My thoughts exactly.
See you soon up at the lamex son. Why can’t we play at Haringey boroughs ground? Why why
I have information from a source close to Bruce that he is in fact our new striker…badaboom….
Lucky for Levy and enic the fans are not allowed into the games at the moment.
I can’t contain the excitment. I think I’m going to wet myself
Good luck to him, welcome aboard. However a kid released from Sheffield Utd counts as a transfer now does it in Levy’s brave new world?
