Confirmed Spurs XI Mourinho Swings The Axe| graphic

By The Boy -

Has the team-sheet of a routine Tottenham league game ever been the subject of such anticipation?

PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal has also hinted at a personnel shake-up this evening and, tweeting earlier that a reaction was required and that ‘there certainly has been from Mourinho’.

DANGER Ollie Watkins has now registered five of Aston Villa’s last eight Premier League opening goals. For Tottenham, Gareth Bale has opened the scoring for Tottenham in two of their last four fixtures in the division.

I don’t see how this ruffles cages at all. Seems like the best 11 to play with Son hurt and Bale tired. Now how they play on the pitch, that’s a different story.

Fair point, its time we started learning to live without him

Vinicius deserves another start in the League & Bale will be on later to have an effect…. if he can.

Hope Vini is able to make an impact enough to make you want to put a little salt & pepper on your mask

Either this line up is in desperation or there are genuine reasons for it, if Vini is better than Bale I’ll eat my mask !

I am happy that Vinnie is starting. Kane knock offs and tap throughs aplenty. We’ll win fark all, but Kane to get that assist record

Also if Toby were not ill Dier would definitely deserve to be watching from Home.
But does Jose still rate Dier or is he waiting till the end of the season to give him his marching orders

Boys said he is sick. Been tounging Aurier apparently who also has a case of the clap

To repeat myself – I think he hasn’t played due to a combination of youth and some niggling injuries. But whenever he’s played, he’s been very decent.

Last season he also bombed down the flank once or twice and seemed to have a wicked cross on him too, so let’s see how he does! I’m just happy to have a RB I feel I can trust for once.

Utterly incomprehensible that Toby, our best CB, who didn’t play in the debacle in midweek, nor was responsible for either of the goals against Arsenal and whose restoration to first choice CB had been integral to our upturn in defensive performance prior to the Arsenal game, should be left out of the squad altogether. Other than that I have no problem with the team.

Leaving us with Doherty and Winks as the odd men out. Fair enough.

I’m a big Toby fan, so I’m glad he isn’t one of those dragged outside and shot.

Japhe did nothing wrong whenever he has played. Maybe not a threat on attack, but fuck me, besides Reggie, which of our wing backs are a threat?

Toby is a curious one alright, I thought he was ok against Arsenal. Perhaps he’s not been the leader he ought to be in the dressing room

And yeah, 100% the reason Bale was dropped.

Ndombele had a tired game, not used to frequency of EPL schedule? But he needs to play, Winks and Sissoko are terrible

So as Toby didn’t play and he is clearly our best CB and no one can really doubt his commitment what is his absence all about. Sanchez needs experience alongside him and so does Rodon. If Vinicius is leaving why bother with him, I would still have Bale over him any day.If Bale is being sidelined yet again for not tracking back for the 3rd Zagreb goal then Ndombele was just as bad.

Jimmy Saville would be happy, but I wouldn’t. Jose did what he had to do.

Interesting that Aurier is out of squad. More tickling French anger management. Predict a Frenchie revolt In Summer. At least we can be rid of Sissoko, just hope they both take Dier, Doherty, Winks, and Hart with them

Neither Doherty nor Aurier anywhere near the squad. Winks too and no Toby? Well that’s interesting.

On the other hand, this is likely our best midfield, and the evening should be a treat for Rodon enthusiasts.

Chuffed for Japhet. Make that spot your own, young man!

I’d start the kid Scarlett instead of Vinicius. What’s the worst that could happen?

Just a little shocked.

But loving it!!!!

He’s rattling some cages here.

Toby must be injured, but at least we get to see Rodon, Tanganga & Lo Celso back. Also Kane & Vinicius. Not sure what formation he’s playing but Jose is doing something different.
