In a bid to convince Tottenham Hotspur to sell star striker Harry Kane, Manchester United are reportedly considering offering Jadon Sancho plus cash, according to the latest report by the Express.
Manchester United have a long standing interest in the England striker but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not willing to sell him, specially to a Premier League rival.
Tottenham’s demands for Kane is set at a staggering £100 million, a figure that has deterred potential suitors.
Manchester United had previously reportedly withdrawn their interest due to the high price tag.
However, this latest report suggests that they may make another attempt to sign the striker by offering Sancho as part of a player plus cash deal.
Tottenham have been linked with Sancho in recent weeks and according to Daily Star, are ‘monitoring developments‘.
It’s reported that while it’s almost impossible for Manchester United to make a move for Kane due to them having work on a strict budget, a cash plus Sancho offer ‘could be enough to take Tottenham to the negotiating table’.
Sancho has struggled to replicate his form from Borussia Dortmund in the Premier League since joining Manchester United, scoring only 12 goals in 79 appearances.
However, competition for Kane’s signature is fierce, with Bayern Munich also expressing interest in the striker.
The German club has already submitted an initial bid, which was promptly rejected by Tottenham as it fell £40 million short of their valuation.
This transfer saga is set to be one of the main talking points this summer and it remains to be seen whether Levy forces Kane to stay and risk losing him on a free next summer or sells him for a fee closest to their valuation.
