Castles: Fonseca To Be Lumbered With Mason And King

Duncan Castles, on his ‘The Transfer Window‘ podcast, is running with the suggestion that the next Tottenham Hotspur coach is going to be stuck with Ryan Mason and Ledley King.

The football under Ryan Mason was unappetizing and Ledley King as the club’s defensive coach has not worked. To add insult to injury, Ledders has told the Evening Standard that he is surprised that Eric Dier wasn’t selected to play for England in this summer’s Euros tournament.

This level of naivety is unhelpful at best – and that’s the polite version. Eric Dier had a shocking season bar a handful of decent performances. This to me only serves to reinforce the notion that there exists within the club a misguided sense of ability in respect of the existing squad. Perhaps a quick glance at the Premier League table, whilst standing in front of the Spurs’ trophy cabinet, might help clear a few minds?

Because he was appointed as the defensive coach and our defence is a shambles, particularly Dier and Sanchez who have gone backwards since he took over . It’s not too difficult to understand that great player do not always make good managers or coaches.

He really said that about Dier? Unbelievable.

I’m sure the Mason/King thing is the reason why Conte was only allowed 4 staff and why he pulled out. Man City had 13 managers in 20 years of failure but Tony Book remained the head coach. Joe Royle took over and first act was to fire Book. From that moment onwards everything began smelling of roses. King is the problem, not the solution to our defending ineptness.

Not a Spurs fan, but apparently Erikson is awake and stabilised. I’m not an emotional man, but I prayed to god as I was seeing the CPR being administered. Puts everything into proper perspective.

There also happened to be one of the best heart specialists in the crowd that night who helped Patrice.

Muwamba was out for almost an hour before he was revived on our pitch, so there is hope. They just need to keep trying.

It official Paratici has been announced. Two snippets that I picked up on in Paratici’s statement. Fabio Paratici said: “I am thrilled by this fantastic opportunity and I thank the Club and the Chairman for the trust in me. Tottenham is one of the top clubs in the UK and in Europe ( add in here “based on stadium size and training facilities”) with an ambitious long-term plan. I will dedicate all myself to this new venture and look forward to working with the management team to write a new and hopefully successful chapter in the Club history.” So once again its jam tomorrow and another project. How ENIC and Levy love a good project to hide behind. Lets see how long term this project will be based on our league positions at the end of December.

RM didn’t have a chance to make his mark & couldn’t say anything really. As for LK, isn’t he supposed to be the defensive coach? Ha! Shocking defensively all round last year, he’s lucky if he’s kept on.

Nice to see a full stadium in Denmark. Proper crowd, no ‘distancing’….nobody’s dying, nobody’s sick. Like most of Scandinavia. Surprised they let it be shown over here on the BBC. We are at war people.
