Journalist Dan Kilpatrick has raised the possibility of Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy considering the sale of Manor Solomon in the summer transfer window, potentially to secure a quick profit.
Spurs signed Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk after he impressed during his loan spell at Fulham.
And he has left many at the club impressed with his skills, including James Maddison who has called him the most skilful player at the club.
However, he has had an unfortunate start to his Spurs career, having picked up an injury in October and being out since then. He has only made 5 appearances so far, assisting two goals.
Kilpatrick, speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, discussed the potential scenario of Solomon being sold, emphasising the financial aspect of the deal.
He said:
“He (Solomon) was a free transfer. It was a clever or backhanded bit of business to get him from Shakhtar in those circumstances. Whatever Spurs sell him for, or if they were to sell him would be profit. It would make him a canny bit of business, and I don’t think that option can be ruled out if they sign a couple of wingers in the summer which is definitely a possibility,”
TBH Says:
It would be very typical of Daniel Levy to sell him if there is an attractive offer on the table.
Having signed him on a free, Levy will have the chance to make a quick profit on the player.
Spurs already have quite a few options in attack and reports suggests they are planning to sign another winger in the summer window to further bolster their squad.
While Solomon’s sale would provide financial gain, it would raise questions about the club’s plans for depth in attack.
