“Can link the midfield to the strikers” former Spurs man convinced target should be signed

Tottenham have had some of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League over the past two decades.

The likes of Luka Modric and Christian Eriksen have all played for the Lilywhites over the past few seasons.

However, after selling Eriksen in the last transfer window, the club has been missing a creative head in their midfield and they might have to fix that problem before they can become a top team again.

Former Manager, Harry Redknapp has urged the club to make a move for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

He told Talk Sports as quoted by Football365 that the Englishman is exactly what his former team needs at the moment.

He has been supported by former Spurs star Alan Hutton, who agreed with Redknapp that the Lilywhites should make a move for the Aston Villa man.

Hutton claimed that Grealish had the ability to link the Spurs’ midfield to their attack, and he is a Bruno Fernandes-type of player.

Hutton told Football Insider: “I think Harry Redknapp is right with this one, I think Tottenham, at the moment, are missing a player of his ability.

“Somebody who, like the Bruno Fernandes type, can link the midfield to the strikers, be a bit more creative and help the forward-thinking players do what they do.

“He would definitely be an amazing fit for them.”

Grealish is proper quality and it would be fantastic if we could manage to sign him but I have a feeling that boat has sailed and he is likely to be out of our price range now.

Out of our price range all depends on who else is interested right? Can’t see any of the top 4 chucking £70 at the villa any time soon.

Yeah pity we can’t clone him and put him everywhere with Lloris in goal. Got to get him first though which is going to be nigh on impossible unless Jose pulls a trick.

Both Grealish and Dele tend to hold onto the ball too long, the difference being that Grealish usually does something constructive with it, where Dele dribbles down a blind alley and loses it. Against that you have Dele is a better finisher (when on form).

Why even bother waste our time discussing this.
Good player should be at Spurs now but the price will be above what we can afford. If only Tight Purse was half as clever as he thinks he is.

Whatever a lot of us think of Dele’s current form he will not drop down to the Championship. He would rather sit out his contract.
I think one of the problems with Grealish is he tends to hold onto the ball too long, however that may be due to not having decent players around him looking to get into good positions early enough to give him an out ball.
With us he would hopefully have that luxury although I’m still not 100% convinced by him.He may be their main man,but he tends not to show in the big games against better opposition. And the way he invited fouls against him could lead to long term injury problems.
Personally I would go for McGinn if we signed anybody from Villa.

That picture on Skysport looks like Auba is going to chew Bellerin’s arm off.

The season were struck with the virus situation and have no cash, this is apparently the season we’ll be making huge signings? If by some miracle we did have some cash, we spend it all on a position that isn’t a striker, defensive mid, or right back? Utter nonsense.
