BT Sport No Filter Spurs v RBL|Footage you may not have seen [video]

By The Boy -

If only all the prematch video content could be this good. BT Sport have absolutely nailed their build up technique here and fans get the right amount of sound bites from the pressers, mixed with plenty of “life on the road” type camerawork to keep the energy levels where they ought to be.

Beyond the whole “no striker” business, this game will be somewhat billed as Mourinho vs Nagelsmann bout, not because the coaches are particularly comparable, Julian Nagelsmann is another Pochettino – he;s won nothing. Rather, tonight we see a depleted Tottenham side taking on a Leipzig team that would probably get short shrift from a full strength Spurs.

Indeed, the bookies have Spurs at @7/4, and RBL at @6/4!

Poch developed half the england squad debutants in his time with us and saints. Lallana, shaw, Rodriguez, lambert, clyne, kane, dele, dier, mason theres loads he developed. Loads of foreigners too like mane. Pochs development and coaching was clearly what he thrived at.. It was his management and decision making that drew question marks, like his slow and late subs, and the throwing of competitions. Poch will go on to win stuff I’m sure. I don’t know about the german but il keep an eye on their set pieces. Our attacking and defending set pieces has been sub par for time. They are all simple though really to be deadly you need a dead ball specialist like bale ronaldo pirlo payet and you got great chance to score or gift someone on a plate.. Corners with tactical formation running is nonsense to me, players either stop their man or get a goal regardless. Short or long corners or formation running is all you can do really. Hardly genius. Most corners are scored from headers from pure determination, or scrappy goals in chaos like a pinball machine, or often players get a pop from distance or outside the box but this is usually poor defending noones marking them.

Nagelsmann is not another Pochettino! First, he is only 32. He is a tactical genius, somebody I really look up to as a fellow coach. I rarely saw anything Poch did that was tactically competent. He will win major trophies long before Poch does. Watch their set plays on corners.

Also, in player development, Poch failed to develop or improve Sanchez (or Winks) whatsoever, while Julian has taken a promising Upamecano and turned him into the best defender in the world..and he just turned 21.
