Former Tottenham scout Bryan King recently expressed his concern regarding the injury to Cristian Romero.

Spurs came back from a goal down to beat Aston Villa 4-1 last weekend, but the win did not come without a few injury problems for Ange Postecoglou.

They came into the game without their star defender Micky van de Ven, who is out for a month with a hamstring injury sustained during the win against Manchester City in the League Cup last week.

And against Villa, they lost their vice-captain as well, who was subbed off after picking up what appeared to be a bone injury on the right toe.

King expressed his concerns regarding the injury, stating that bone injuries tend to be serious and if it it’s a broken bone, recovery could take as long as 6 months.

Bryan King told Tottenham News:

“Obviously you don’t want any player of that quality out for a long time.”

“When we start talking about bone injuries, it could be a fracture, a break or maybe it is just heavily bruised.

“Let’s hope for the best because this could be a serious blow for the team and for Postecoglou. However, let’s wait until we get conclusive evidence.

“You can’t really judge or assess how long the injury will be as of yet. If it is a badly bruised bone, he could be out for just a fortnight. However, if it is a break, he could be out for six months.

“The sooner we find out the extent of it, the easier it will be to speculate.”

His injury has reportedly set off alarm bells in Argentina ahead of the final international break of the year.

Journalist Gaston Edul shared an encouraging update, claiming that it may not be a bone injury, which would mean he could be back in action in a week or so.

Tottenham fans will be hoping that the injury is not a serious one and that he is back in action after the international break.
