Brendan Rodgers accuses Premier League of bowing to broadcasters for not postponing match against Spurs

By Eddie Razo -

Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak and have asked the Premier League to reschedule their Thursday match.

However, the league has turned these down, and it seems as though the matchup between the two squads will proceed. Furthermore, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is critical of the league, saying it’s bowing to pressure from broadcasters.

“I’m pretty sure that’s the case, yes,” Rodgers said with the Daily Mail relaying his remarks. “In terms of players, managers, and coaches, we all want to play the games. But ultimately, the health of a player is the priority. If you have players available, you get a better product.”

Rodgers isn’t alone in his frustration as Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte also didn’t appreciate that the Premier League didn’t allow to rearrange the Leicester game to play their Europa Conference League tie with Stade Rennais.

“We deserve to play this game and to try to have a chance to go to the next round,” Conte said. “We didn’t play through no fault of our own but because of a big problem and because the Government closed our training ground.”

Despite the match being scheduled to occur, it’s far from a sure thing considering Wednesday night; the Burnley-Watford was postponed two and a half hours before the kick-off.

It will be interesting to see what the Tottenham squad is going to look like come Thursday night as three days later; they’ll have a matchup against Liverpool on Sunday.

They had to call it off otherwise they look silly. Brilliant stuff for Levy this, no games, heats off. Nice rest for him. Thing is, when are they going to fit these matches in….?? That’s what? 4 now?
Utter farcical Psy op, the whole sport and society as a whole is one big clown shoe. None of these players are sick I’d wager. Not one.

Just seen a Sky Sports news report that tonight’s game is off. Postponed due to increase in Covid cases in Leceister City camp. Was looking forward to the game.

Shades of 1981/82 and 1984/85 seasons when our title runs were effectively ended by fixture congestion towards the end of those seasons. Although the reasons then were harsh winters not some silly hysteria over a virus.

I think i am right in saying we’ve played more matches than anybody in the PL.Even if we don’t progress unfairly in ther ECL we still have a very hectic schedule until the end of the season,so when would these postponed matches take place.

Boris is going to continue this Moronic charade because he is hellbent on making everybody get a booster killshot.This.for something that have proved to be totally useless for the job.

Get ready for the leagues to be suspended before too long.

Agreed, an utter joke! Was looking forward to watching tonight’s game. Will Sunday’s game happen? We have now played 3 games less than every other club.
