This blog will be heaping further praise on Stevie Bergwijn across the day so do stay tuned, but to whet your appetite, here’s the boy looking every inch what’s expected from a Tottenham player.
Picking the ball up and immediately creating – this 22-year-old is what it’s all about. Sure, we played some extremely bland football in patches yesterday afternoon at Villa Park, but this was José approved player and the dynamism here is nothing shy of delightful.
More, please.
Why didn’t Dele nod it into the ground, near post, a loose ball from the save could have been tapped in too. Great break from midfield to release Bergwjin too…..
How many real pros have learned/trained to use both feet? Not expecting the weaker foot to be as good, but nevertheless they train and make the other foot stronger and useable. I am surprised this is not a standard requirement.
Mostly because he is one footed.
I agree. He hangs on to possession for too long and loses the ball too easily when a quick pass would keep the attack going.
Good points.Since his initial improvement following Jose’s arrival he seems to have reverted to type.I bet he doesn’t make the England squad next month.Lingard and Barclay should also be nowhere near it either.
Spin it how you like, if those chances are not converted into goals they may as well not have happened. This sort of thinking makes also rans, not winners = settling for 2nd, 3rd or 4th or Ropey and being happy.
The positive is that he is getting the chances.
Bit of a selective memory, H. we were linked with him under Poch, Levy not interested. He is classy nevertheless.
How many chances did Alli fluff yesterday?
