“Big Honor” – Son Heung-min talks teaming up for 36th goal with Harry Kane

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur had the most impressive win of the weekend. The north London club went to the Etihad Stadium and picked up a 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Harry Kane scored a brace, and in his first goal, the 28-year-old teamed up with Son Heung-min, marking the 36th time the two teammates have assisted each other, equalling a Premier League record.

Son was glad to get to the record after waiting months to get to the 36-goal mark. The 29-year-old added that he doesn’t do much in terms of anything fancy to create chances for Kane, he puts it in the box, and his teammate does the rest.

“We’ve been waiting for long, isn’t it!” Son told Sky Sports (via Metro). “This is a great record; I mean, this is historical. I didn’t do many things, this guy [Kane], sometimes I just cross the ball, and he’s inside the box finishing so well.”

“He’s scored so many goals. I was really sad at the start of the season when he didn’t score goals, but he was working hard for the team. He is an unbelievable player and an unbelievable guy. Working alongside him is a big honor.”

Spurs will hope the connection between the two can begin to heat up as Tottenham finds itself fighting for a top-four spot. Although they’re six points behind Manchester United, who occupies fourth place in the standings. However, Antonio Conte’s squad has three games in hand to make up some ground.
