Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Brentford’s German forward Kevin Schade. But they’re not alone. have shown genuine interest in signing Kevin Schade, the 24-year-old German forward currently starring for Brentford in the Premier League.
Recent reports from mid-January 2026 indicate that Spurs are closely monitoring Schade ahead of the summer transfer window. Multiple sources, including CaughtOffside and Sky Sports Germany (via Florian Plettenberg), highlight that Tottenham “really like” the player after scouting him for some time. This interest dates back, with former sporting director Fabio Paratici reportedly doing groundwork on a potential deal before his departure.
Schade, known for his blistering pace (one of the fastest players in the league), versatility across the forward line (winger, striker, or even central roles), and strong form this season — 6 goals and 3 assists in around 21 appearances — fits Tottenham’s need for attacking depth and dynamism. This comes amid challenges in their forward options following departures like Heung-Min Son (to MLS) and sales like Brennan Johnson.
Current Tottenham manager Thomas Frank previously coached Schade at Brentford, giving Spurs a tactical familiarity edge.
According to The Boy Hotspur’s Substack, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also now showing interest, with all three sides viewing him as a player who can add pace and depth to their attacking options.
Brentford, however, are not open to selling in January. With Schade tied down until 2028 and already established at the international level, the club are in a strong position and won’t entertain official bids this winter. They admit there have been contacts, but stress that any price will depend on the club making the move. Things could change in the summer, though, when Brentford’s valuation of €50–60 million will set the tone for negotiations.
On the pitch, Schade has stood out in the Premier League this season with his speed and versatility as a wide forward. His profile fits perfectly into the attacking plans of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle, making him one of the names to watch when the market opens up again.
