Tottenham is in desperate need of funds and one of the avenues open to them is the stadium naming rights.
The likes of Nike and Amazon have previously been mentioned though nothing appears to be happening on those fronts, however, not all hope is lost if the Secret Footballer via his Twitter account is to be believed.
Apparently, the Secret Footballer is a former Premier League footballer that has been on the Sunday Times bestseller list, whether that is true or not is open to question but he does have over 100k followers, so quite a few believe him it seems.
Anyway, he reckons that Tottenham is in discussions with British Airways over the naming rights worth £250m.
Off the bat, I will say that I find that a strange one, where the hell has BA got that sort of money, I mean, the airline industry are in a worse condition than football clubs.
This is the Tweet and a few of the responses, some of which are hilarious.
Be better than Ryanair I suppose, they’d have you getting the tube to Walthamstow and walking to the stadium from there and charge you a few extra quid to get the opportunity to sit in your own seat before others get to theirs

Trust they’ll pay up quicker than they do for flight refunds?

Going to be livid if I'm there for a match and the person in front of me sets their seat to recline…

That would be fun. From my experience there about 40% support Blue Scum, 30% scum Scum & 20% Spurs maybe a bit less.
Without looking like a regular Champions League club you aren’t going to give a sponsor the exposure or cache they might want.
Emirates no doubt did the deal with Woolwich because of where they were when that deal was struck. You have to say, building their place and getting it named when they were a top club at the top of their game was an actual plan.
Unlike Danny ‘cheapskate’ Levy who’s tried to copy them without consideration of the profile of the clubs at the time.
We are of course told to expect the opposite to happen (of course) to what’s happened with them. They’ve gone downhill as a team since moving, we are going to get better!?On what basis? 🤔
