“Basically Lingard with a moustache” Analysis of Dele Alli’s 24 mins against Blades suggests some fans are wrong |video

By The Boy -

Dele Alli came on in the 71st minute for the last 24 minutes of our dismal loss against the Yorkshiremen and you don’t have to look far to see people (including me) that are still digging him out.

Curiously enough, the boy had a good game, but one can’t help but feel that by the time he featured, few were still watching and those that were weren’t in the most receptive of moods.

Dele Alli’s heat map vs Sheffield United

So what was the truth, are these fans’ comments accurate? At first glance, a player’s heat map can give us plenty of clues. Dele’s looks lively enough.

A passing accuracy of 100% is always pleasing to see, even it was only 8 balls he got to play. Bottom line is, Dele may not have pulled up any trees, last time out, but he wasn’t awful.

It’s called being a ‘proper’ fan. Some people think they own the copyright, and it’s hilarious.

Only fans that have been going home and away for 20 plus years can really take any moral high ground on that front. If you love the club you do, f**ck anyone else who thinks they know different…

Poch worked with Toby at Saints, Sonny wasn’t his pick and neither were most of them. Does anyone honestly believe that Poch wanted Walker sold to eventually end up with Aurier?

Poch worked with what he was given, its highly unlikely what Jose gets will be what he got in all his other jobs. Backing…

Massively clutching at straws here mate. He made absolutely no impact at all, the video you show of him dribbling is why I get so fed up watching him. Tries to beat three men instead of passing it. Little flicks and tricks that go no where. I don’t get the obsession with him, he’s been awful for about 30 months, bar the first few Jose games.

Poch bought Over 20 players, over £300m worth and only Toby & Sonny made the grade the rest were bang average or not fit for purpose.

I think I can live with it, but ask yourself, can you support Newcastle and loathe Mike Ashley? Can you support Man Utd and dislike the Glazers who have loaded up a club with enormous debts? Ring any bells?

Yep. You’re not loyal. You turn your back on the club coz there’s bits about it you don’t like. Anyway its up to you. Live with it.

Blind and unquestioning loyalty is dangerous. I have supported Spurs for 58 years but I do not support a property group who hold the club’s supporters in contempt and whose owners do not even like football. I doubt that I will live long enough to see us win anything of note under the current administration. Have I made that clear enough for you?

Partly loyal? Explain how that works please.

I suspect that I have supported Spurs far longer than you and so, I have seen many different regimes, many lows and not so many highs. I felt under Poch that we had finally earned the respect of our peers and were a consistent force to be reckoned with. You seem to confuse being a loyal Spurs supporter with having to be a supporter of Levy and Enic. They do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Why would you understand loyal talk? Could messi play in this league? Marcus is stronger than you think.

I have no idea what you are talking about as usual. By the way, I suspect that young Mr Edwards lacks the physicality to play in the PL.

Dele Ali, Lamela, Gedson, all players without a proper position. Basically they are wastes of space. Ive had lits of patience with dele and lamela but they are just Jesse Lingaards. Average. Time to move on.

The Dele-Kane axis that was great during Pochs first few seasons has crumbled without a trace.

Really hoping Jose can sort this lot out but ffs we have been dreadful for 18 months and Jose is running out of time before he HAS to be questioned.

The first 5 games of next season will be make or break for Jose.

What I see on that clip is the defenders forcing him onto his left, ergo no end product. He always wants too long to make up his mind then fluffs it.

Without the possession of a heat map to statistically analyse Deli Alli, I always have the same feelings when I watch him play. When he plays slightly deeper, I realise that he cannot play midfield as he always slows the game down and passes the ball sideways too often. When he plays on the left, he is entirely predictable as he always has to cut inside onto his right foot. He also lose possession far too easily and commits silly and somewhat spiteful fouls after he has done so. Those moments of goal scoring brilliance are long gone. I hate to agree with Tappaspur but I would sell him tomorrow as I don’t think he will get any better but the question is what is he worth, particularly in today’s market? Those halcyon times when he was valued at circa 100-150 mill are long gone.

I’d swap him for jenas and he was awful. Fed up with his troubles on and off the pitch.

What we are finding out now is just what an outstanding job Poch did with a squad nobody else can work with.

When Poch was there, the mugs were blaming him for every problem that arose, the same mugs are now blaming the players because they don’t want to blame Jose. The mugs stuck their necks on the line for the ‘winner’ and now they’re being proved wrong. You know why? Because they’re mugs.

Like all players, he needs the opportunity to play regular, like a couple of seasons back. Injuries hopefully are behind him, but the team overall has been poor for over a season, excluding the lucky run in the CL, and the change in management, but he gets singled out. As has been pointed out, his stats are still good for a midfielder.

I found dele out ages ago. You’ll never see dele playing that football table tennis game. I’m sorry but I don’t rate him highly. The money bit aside I’d swap him for Marcus E all day long.
