Bale To Fly Into London Tomorrow To Complete One Year Deal according to top source

By The Boy -

Fabrizio Romano continues his excellent works in respect of the biggest transfers, heralding the return of the boy Bale. This summer transfer window is turning into somewhat of a spectacular success for Jose Mourinho, who despite a global pandemic, and Tottenham grappling debts totalling nigh on billion pounds.

To date the club has already managed to get deals over the line for Southampton’s former captain, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ former captain, Matt Doherty, plus one of the most successful and experienced goalkeepers in Europe, Joe Hart.

Add serial winner Gareth Bale to this activity and Tottenham have done some extraordinary business, which few would have thought possible after so many years of erratic efforts when it came to freshening up the squad.

The more I see Levy committing to Maureen, the worse I feel for Poch. Are Spuds in a stronger financial position to support a manager now than a few years ago?

Bale played some of his best football cutting in from the right and lashing them in from all angles for Madrid. { Son. Kane. Bale }

Is dangerous. Son bale. Their ain’t no left or right side rule. Just be where you gotta be to cause the most damage. The only side they gotta worry about is offside

Agree totally. We were at our most dangerous when Walker and Rose were creating pace and width down both flanks. That opens up spaces for the likes of Kane and Son and all the attacking players. Pochettino allowed that wingback formation to be dismantled and he never recovered it allowing instead to play narrow through the middle which has never worked and is easy to defend against.

The Mourinho Effect………. For many Spurs fans the last two days must seem surreal.Like some hallucinagenic glimpse into a world of virtual reality. After years of transfer windows coming and going leaving them feeling frustrated and angry at the lack of Dare To Do, it would appear that the worm has turned with dramatic effect in the last few days after the season opening debacle against Everton at what now looks likely to become The Amazon Arena. What has happened to change the engrained DNA aversion to football matters that has personified the character traits of the clubs owners ENIC under the stewardship of Daniel Levy?. Has Chairman Levy had some sort of epiphany? A vision of some glorious future in which finally this sleeping giant awakens with a roar befitting it’s brand new world class stadium and training complex. Perhaps the reality is much more pragmatic and Levyesque. When Mourinho was announced as the successor to the Pochettino era many looked for the immediate impact on the football pitch. It would now appear that where the Mourinho effect has had most traction is in the approach to transfer activity. When the tenure of The Pochettino Reign fizzled and spluttered to its inevitable demise the clubs owners looked to the “special one” to turn the water into wine again with a squad clearly suffering from years of neglect whilst the costs for the new stadium build spiralled to levels unforeseen or budgeted for. Bringing the serial winner Mourinho to the club was not cheap however as it almost double the cost at £15 million p.a of the package that had made Pochettino “berry appy” when he had made his statement about the club needing to be brave in the transfer market. Along with the Mourinho deal came a £45 million termination payment. This was the glue that meant Levy and Mourinho were financial bedfellows joined at the hip for at least three years. Daniel Levy hoped that the cost of the Mourinho package would be less than the cost of the major surgery needed on the squad. Mourinho soon realised that no amount of polishing would turn this motley crew into title contenders even with a few gold nuggets in Kane and Son. Mourinho managed to drag the club over the line for European football at the last gasp. The touchline celebrations at Crystal Palace after a less than impressive draw in the final match of the season albeit somewhat embarrassing for a club and manager accustomed to greater success.Nevertheless it showed the importance of the result to all involved. Perhaps Daniel Levy thought that this would herald another era of CL qualification reminiscent of the Pochettino glory days. However along game Covid 19 to scupper the multiplex event revenues budgeted for at the new stadium along with the top tier ticket revenues from the fans. No one could have foreseen the global pandemic apart from those organisations astute enough to insure against such a risk. Unfortunately ENIC did not appear in that list of risk averse organisations which is surprising. Then we have been introduced to the fly on the wall stage managed Amazon original All or Nothing premiere that appeared to be an attempt to show the clubs owners in a positive light and the fans to not understand how difficult it was to run a football club and buy players. What was interesting was the impression that Levy was to some degree in awe of Mourinho’s reputation and success like some businessman who had just gone out and purchased the best and most expensive car available even though it might be running on fossil fuels that may be phased out yet trying to convince himself and all others that he had made the right decision. There was no turning back from Mourinho for Levy. He had publicly stated that Mourinho was one of the two best managers on the planet. If he fired him he would lose credibility for appointing him and anyone else he brought in would appear second best. He had to back and not sack the manager this time. Plus the club could maybe survive one season outside of the CL but a sustained period of mid table mediocrity would not cut muster with Uncle Joe in the Bahamas. So the transfer window opened for the new season and the Mourinho effect could begin to be seen with the introduction of Hart, Hoijberg and Docherty. Not stellar world class players but solid and dependable. The expectation was high that they would make an immediate impact in the opening game of the season at home to Everton Instead what happened was a performance that indicated the club was in free fall lacking real world class quality to match the real estate specifications they were underperforming in. So the owners of the club have found themselves in a perfect storm of their own creation. Daniel Levy has spun his PR aggressively towards the fact that he really is a Spurs fan at heart that wants success for the club. Bale and Reguilon appear on the horizon resurrecting that old adage about a special relationship between Real Madrid and the club that to date has been very special for Real Madrid and decidedly unspecial for Spurs. However this time it would appear that the scales may be balanced more evenly. The prospect of the Bale boy returning home and another world class player arriving from Real Madrid to fill a LB position to compliment the arrival of Docherty as RB alongside Kane and Son has created a sense of excitement and expectation that had long disappeared from the experience of the supporters and certainly has yet to manifest itself in the new stadium. It may just be that the Mourinho effect is being felt more off the pitch than on it at present. Pochettino must be holding his head in his hands as he observes the way Mourinho can influence Daniel Levy in ways he never had the ability to do.

I agree. I am also partial to a good magic act. Let’s see how Maureen works his “magic” on this season.

The good thing is, Mourinho loves results and trophies,

Smoke and mirrors are for “magic” acts, you know.

I love the enthusiasm and I’m with you, but the promise HAS to be translated into results and trophies, otherwise its all smoke and mirrors.

I think Dier and Alli were Jose’s extra pet projects when he arrived – Dier has responded, Alli also did but just for five games then the usual nonsense

Bale’s equally adept at playing on the right as it allows him to cut inside onto his left foot. Both him and Sonny can switch easily during the game.

I do think that the possibility of switching point of attack from right flank to left is essential. We have become to predictable and easy to defeat against with only our right back attacking. Sergio will provide the balance we need.

How will the front 3 set up I wonder? Both Son and Bale are left sided…

Having under performed the past seasons Bale has destroyed Alli’s comfort zone which is no bad thing me thinks?

Getting the pair of them will transform us. To be able to effectively attack down both flanks will make us less predictable, and defences will be so obsessed with stopping Bale that it will free up space for others. Bale is one of the best keys for unlocking stubborn defences, even now. He still does it regularly for Wales.

Get the feeling that formation would suit Dier more too – and Jose likes Dier’s attitude, he wants him to succeed so I don’t see him getting dropped

I really hope that Mourinho is going to adopt a 3-4-3 formation with Bale playing the inside right position, Kane in the centre and Son inside left. With wing backs Doherty and Ragulion attacking down both their respective flanks. This would bring Son closer to Kane too. We’ve got to base the formation around Bale if we can, that’s a no brainer after all. .

H. Just checked on Sky Sports and they have posted a video showing Bale driving into the training ground around 10am this morning. If it’s him, he must keener than mustard to get this done.

The Madrid left back might actually be the more important player in terms of getting us playing better week in week out….but for the lift signing Bale will give the club in general, especially rolling him out for the cups in the latter stages or the big games against the ‘top 4’ ‘top 6’ etc – that will be massive.
