AS hints at another reason why one Spurs star hasn’t traveled to South Korea

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has made headlines with the additions they have made this summer. Still, the north London club will need to begin offloading players that manager Antonio Conte may not consider for next season. One of the names is defender Sergio Reguilón.

Although Reguilón might not be part of the future at Spurs, the 25-year-old has a market. AS reports that Sevilla is interested in a possible reunion, considering the left-back played for the La Liga side in 2019-20.

The report intriguingly adds that Sergio didn’t travel because he has a groin issue. Naturally, this doesn’t preclude the boy not being in Conte’s plans, but the situation isn’t entirely clear…

Spurs paid €30 million for Reguilón in 2020, so they’ll be looking to at least recoup their initial investment in the Spain international. The defender could be open to a deal as he might want a starter role ahead of the FIFA World Cup later this year.

Reguilón made 31 appearances this past season, scoring two goals and scoring three assists. Nonetheless, Tottenham opted to find an upgrade at his position, adding Ivan Perišić this summer on a free transfer.

Started brightly, but fizzled out. I thought he was going to be a star, but it wasn’t to be. Another punt that didn’t turn out as well as expected. Along with Sanchez, Ndom, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, and Royal. That’s nearly £200m in the toilet. We would get just over half back!

If he does leave I wish him the best. You cannot fault his effort and willingness unlike other deadwood that need to be shifted sooner

When Reggie arrived he brought an energy to that position , long lost after the dive in form of Danny Rose , and a willingness to please .
Its strange how those elements to his game have been lost also , one wonders why ?
My own guess is that players from the continent and largely the rest of the world is that the brutality , the ferocity of competition , the sheer relentless effort eventually drains them . For the truly ‘great players ‘ , the ones who make the game look easy , they take it in their stride , mentally aware , physically do less running than team-mates and yet seem like they’re everywhere . That , I suppose , is the definition of class in the modern game , that application of skill.
Conte needs to find that missing link , to unite the whole squad , the man set apart to make this Spurs side ……great !!!!!!!!
Come on Antonio …… C O Y S !!!!!!!
