Report: Arne Slot set to bring Feyenoord duo with him to Spurs

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to announce Arne Slot as their new manager, following his impressive tenure at Feyenoord according to the latest report.

Slot led Feyenoord to their first league title since 2017, showcasing his managerial prowess.

The Daily Mail reports that Spurs will need to pay a £6million release clause to secure Slot’s services, and negotiations are currently underway.

The report also suggests that Slot is already planning his coaching staff at Tottenham. He intends to bring along Marino Pusic and Sipke Hulsoff from Feyenoord, which could lead to additional compensation demands from the Dutch club.

This development as per the report has caused tensions between Feyenoord and the manager, with talks set to take place between his agent and the club later this week.

Feyenoord, recognising Slot’s value, has offered him a lucrative new contract worth over £2.5 million, but it seems unlikely to persuade him to stay.

It is further claimed that Tottenham’s offer is much more appealing to the Dutch coach, and Feyenoord may ultimately accept a figure close to the £6 million release clause.

The appointment of Slot would bring an end to Tottenham’s manager search, which began after the sacking of Antonio Conte in March.

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was initially the frontrunner for the position for the longest of times, but negotiations broke down last week due to disagreements regarding the presence of a sporting director to support Nagelsmann’s ideas, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

With the arrival of Arne Slot said to be imminent, Tottenham fans will hope for a fresh start under his leadership. Slot’s successful track record at Feyenoord and his tactical acumen make him an exciting prospect for the North London club as they look to rebuild and compete for silverware in the upcoming seasons.
