Tottenham Hotspur pulled out a result that saw them victory on the road against Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s squad sits atop the Premier League standings and were coming off scoring nine goals in their last two matches.
Harry Kane’s brace helped the north London club get the 3-2 win and helped them get back in the race for a top-four spot after the disappointing results against Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“It was an emotional game for sure. It was an exciting game,” Conte told Sky Sports (via TEAMtalk). “We played a good game. We followed a plan. Manchester City would keep the possession for 65 to 70 minutes for the game, so we needed to be good tactically.
“But even when defending, our first thought should be to attack. We created chances and scored good goals against a fantastic team.”
Despite the win, manager Antonio Conte doesn’t want to get too high, stating that there’s plenty of work to be done if this squad wants to finish in the top four once the season ends. However, he does add that the result should boost their confidence.
“This win will give us more confidence. It wasn’t simple to play Manchester City after three losses in a row,” Conte added. “But this is a process; we are working very hard to improve this aspect. This type of game gives us confidence.”
Tottenham will head out on the road to Turf Moor for a matchup against Burnley, which finds itself in the relegation zone. The north London club should claim all three points to keep up with the rest of the teams chasing that final top-four spot.

My ruddy recorder went on the blink that day and failed to record the highlights of the two games for posterity.
We did look decidedly useful that day; I thought we were more impressive than Villa who walloped Liverpool 7-2 later that same day.
Good game, truly enjoyed it but I will not get carried away, last time i did we beat man u 6-1 at old Trafford….before the season ended I saw one if my fav managers get fired by the dark vader.
On our day we can beat anyone. However, we still really need a 2nd choice striker, a quality first choice RWB and some more reliable CBs for if any of the ‘first team’ ones are injured/rested
