Antonio Conte discusses how Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski are adapting to Spurs

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur made some moves on deadline day for the January transfer window when they swooped for Juventus duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski. Both players made their north London debut in the 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Kulusevski played 22 minutes in the win, providing two key passes and winning two of six on his ground duels. Meanwhile, Bentancur played 13 minutes, winning four of his eight total ground duels.

Manager Antonio Conte spoke to the media, where Football.London relayed his remarks regarding what he’s seen from his two new arrivals. However, despite the praise, the Italian tactician preaches time for them to get adjusted.

“Yeah, I think they’re working very well, and I’m pleased for the way they’re understanding our idea of football. Both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski are good players, and they’re working very well,” Conte said.

“For sure, they need a bit of time to understand very well and to go into the team, to understand our tactical aspect offensively and defensively, but I’m very pleased with them because I know that I can count now about them.”

Tottenham will hope that the two players fill the needs on their squad. Kulusevski was brought in to help the forward group to add scoring depth behind Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Bentancur is another piece to the midfield that remains under construction.
