Another managerial target set to reject Tottenham because he wants to manage a top-four club

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s search for a new manager may not end before next season starts as a report has tipped them to miss out on yet another target.

They have met dead-ends in moves for the likes of Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca and that could force them to appoint a less successful manager.

Graham Potter isn’t a name that would inspire much confidence from the fans, but they could settle for him just to end their search.

The Sun is, however, reporting that they would also probably meet disappointment in their pursuit of his signature.

The report says the Brighton manager might be too expensive for them to take away from the South Coast.

He has a contract with the Seagulls until 2025 and he would cost Tottenham £15million.

Additionally, it claims that Potter isn’t keen to change clubs just yet and he would prefer to remain with Brighton, better himself and join a top-four club like Liverpool or Manchester City in the future.

Missing out on Potter wouldn’t be good for the Tottenham image and the longer the search for a new manager goes on, the less confident most fans would be in their ability to name a new boss in time for next season.

Spot O! Levy laughed in his face which is why he enjoys rubbing our face in it. IMHO El Toxico (Levy) and ENIC have almost destroyed the value of the THFC brand.

Did you see what he did for them? No mean effort there and like Swansea and now Brighton he does a decent job and could be the next “one”.

Potter is delusional if he thinks that he can walk into a top four job having won nothing. THFC is a perfect match for him with or without El Toxico (Levy) putting his fingers into his pies. If this is really true then he is a fool. However like so much in the MSM it is probably rubbish as El Toxico almost certainly choked on the 15 million.

Levy is being further backed into a corner. I can’t see even him being able to deflect the blame for this mess from himself?

Yesh… Graham was a bit too ambitious for Spurs these days… we’re getting to be more Phil Brown (of Southend Utd) type of material.

Levy slammed the phone down on Abramovic. He wanted to buy Spurs, was treated shabbily and Cheatski now have 2 European Cups. Truth.

I keep saying it’s going to be Martinez. Mason will be there until Belgium get knocked out. For those of you who wanted Parker, he has gone to Bournemouth.

Is Harry Potter available?..at least he can fly, and wave a magic wand..Spurs have been pathetic in their search for a new manager, an absolute laughing stock of world football.. and sacking the special one a few days before a cup final..wow levy, inspired..I’m oozing sauce! Lol

What an absolute load of old tosh. Of course City, Chelski, United etc…will be desperate for Potter given his pedigree and the fact he’s won and will win sweet FA with Brighton. I’m not saying he’s a bad manager but to think any of the aforementioned teams will go for him is a joke. As I said what an absolute load of crap.

Spurs is my club but levy is a bald headed useless Cnut..and Enic!..we need a new owner like Man City got, or a Russian sugar daddy like chelski got!..so we can buy the league etc..etc..in my dreams!

I thought he was interviewed by Levy back in May. That may have been fake news as well though.

No sign of any deadwood being cleared out yet DD. A week to pre-season training!

Believe that fake news and you’ll believe anything! No ‘top four’ club is going to offer Potter a job and I am sure Potter would jump at the chance of managing Spurs. Levy being too cheap to buy him out of his Brighton contract is far more believable however!

Probably a nothing story designed to have another dig at Spurs. I haven’t been offered the job either, which constitutes me turning them down too.

I have a theory about Levy’s ‘mishandling’ of the managerial farce. It is that as each attempted hire collapses we draw closer to the Levy/Lewis preference, which is to hire Ryan Mason as the new boss. He’d do what he was told to do and would be a bargain, cost-wise. But for that to happen, Spurs would have to appear to be in a ‘no other choice’ situation. We are rapidly approaching that place. We’ll see.

I don’t believe we couldn’t attract Potter, more likely we won’t pay want it takes to get the deal done. It’s looking more and more likely it’s going to be Martinez….which in my opinion is much worse than the others we have been complaining about 🤦🏻‍♂️

What Potter wants and what he will get may be entirely different.
If he is that much up himself I’d rather move on.
Seems possible it will be Martinez if our young hopeful is being deployed at start of pre season.
Or Mancini 🙏🙏😂

Finishing 16th whilst playing some good football is hardly going to attract interest from the Likes of City and Chelsea. Eddie Howe got Bournemouth playing some fantastic football on a smaller budget than Brighton but i doubt them clubs would employ him. I just don’t get how Potter thinks he can make that big of a jump without another club as a stepping stone or unless he somehow performs a miracle and gets Brighton into the top 4 in the next few years.
