Analyzing Spurs’ Transfer Moves| video

By The Boy -

Today has certainly given us all a little more light to work in the previously dimly lit cubicle, from which we’ve been trying to catch sight of something tangible from Tottenham in the transfer market. Gollini says himself, he’s a done deal and other modest but welcome additions appear to be falling into place… but where is the money coming from, eh? More to the point, where is the new striker coming from?!

Gil is a punt. I think Damsgaard did enough in the Euros to suggest he has what it takes to be a good player. I would be happy to have him and have more faith in him than when we signed Ndom, Lo Celso and Bergwijn for instance. He definitely puts in a shift.

Agreed about Romero. The price we paid for Sanchez was ridiculous for a player who had only shown a bit of potential and we wont get near what we paid for if a team were stupid enough to buy him. Sanchez was bad business. We paid less for Vertonghen and Tobes combined and Sanchez didn’t seem to learn a thing off them.

Wow, these are extraordinary statistics. How many people have died as a result of the jab? How may people die in the bath?

Let’s not forget that Skippy and Sessegnon will be in the squad this year- that’s 2 new faces already. I still think Harry stays – City don’t have the 150 mil unless they sell someone big, Utd just bought Sancho and i don’t see Harry playing for Chelsea. So these rumoured transfers won’t happen unless Sanchez, Aurier, and some subset of Winks, Dier, Toby, Dele, Sissoko, Tanguy and Stevie are sold for real money.

No secrets in this game. People talk to people talk to people…. If Kane’s going, those who need to know will know, and the appropriate inflated price tag will be applied. If we go into the market for a proper quality striker, any monkey in the business would know why, and apply their fee accordingly. The people in charge of the millions don’t get there by being gullible.

According to the centre of disease control you are twice as likely to die of the astra jab than ‘covid’.
Statistically you’re more likely to die in the bath. Unbelievable.

At risk….hahahaha!!
The media brainwashing segregation and demonization of the unable or unsure is working a treat I see….
If you’re jabbed….why would you be worried? If your not protected, why would you get jabbed?

We are f”*\$d.

If a fan thinks they should be allowed to go to games and put themselves and others at risk, they’re no different than the fans storming wembley for the final.
Or the ones DMing Rashford et all after the penalties.

If one of our own does go to City as expected. Cut the transfer fee and get Mahrez as part of the deal maybe even throw Sterling into the mix too.

We need tried and tested, these two have that and more. Stop with potential punts just for change.

All these apparent imminent transfers iam sad to say leave me underwelmed.
A significant thing that I don’t think has been mentioned on here, is that none of these players have any premier league experience.

Also if kane is to leave, who is his replacement going to be? One player or two?
We can’t just rely on one striker again like we have been.

Did I miss something but are any of the players coming in a direct replacement for Kane? Or is Son now our lead striker?

Pretty much agree with everything, but Gil and Damsgaard are certainly unproven punts. There are quite a few of those around, so I would fancy us to get them in without much fuss, if we’re really serious.

Romero is a different kettle of fish and could be a vital player for us (i.e. our only CB who’s got his sh-t together). But bear in mind that at the prices quoted, he would still be cheaper than Sanchez. It’s hardly like getting in Harry Maguire, VVD or Ruben Dias, even Skriniar probably. He’s likely a mid-price signing, but a good player who will do a job for us.

Any Spurs fan who cannot or doesn’t want to be jabbed being stopped from being able to go to the matches I’d suggest taking action. They’ve already displayed the usual double standards when an MP was told after inquiring, it wouldnt apply to the house of Commons, which can be hundreds crammed in, so it should NOT apply to us in clubs and football matches etc. It’s all unlawfull and this rules for us and not for them Bolox has to be fought.

If the likes of Romero and Damsgaard are really coming, then Kanes gone. Bale situation round two….
Stadium didn’t keep Harry around very long by looks of things….he wants to hope Sterling leaves City or he will be in a world of pain. Everyone saying titles over before it starts if City get Kane…..
Not so, Let’s see…..

I accepted a couple of seasons ago that we had taken a step back and for now the prospect of competing with the biggest clubs in Europe is sadly over. I do think we’ll be back, but I can’t see it being overnight. I can only hope we don’t do an Arsenal, although they at least won some FA Cups! We couldn’t even win a cup when it was going well. How embarrassing is that?

A good window is needed just to cheer us all up, and by that I do not mean like the one we had last season. We brought in a whole load of nothing last season and the fact we only offloaded Foyth on loan was more concerning. That is now Paratici’s cross to bear. Getting rid of the dross is easier said than done, but get rid we must. There are plenty I don’t want to see in a Spurs shirt again, even in the abomination of the away kit, but I’d start with Sissoko. A player so bad he has conned fans in to thinking he is worthy of our shirt because he got a little bit better. I don’t want leaders on the training ground or in the changing room, I want them on the pitch.

If we can get rid of 4 from Winks, Sissoko, Aurier, Doherty, Sanchez and Dier, even if they are all worth 15m Euros then it adds up to £60m. I know we won’t get rid of all of them, but we have to get rid of some. I’d take £30m for the lot just so I don’t have to read or hear their names associated with us again.

We missed the boat to push on when Levy failed to buy one player that showed Kane we were serious in winning pots and pans and as a result we were left floundering. We bought some prospects (Sess, Ndom, Lo Celso and Reggie) but not one major signing came our way and those 4 need to step up now. This is Ndom’s third season and there are no more excuses for him. We have given him over £20m in wages and got very little back.

If Romero, Gil and Damsgaard are that good I will be amazed if no one else comes in for them. Clubs in the Champions League or even the Europa are more attractive than us, but if they are part of our future I’ll be there cheering them on for sure. Just a shame Kane won’t be with us.

I believe that Kane is a done deal and agree with many others that Levy doesn’t want it announced to avoid being gazumped in the transfer market. I only hope that Paratici does a better job than Baldini did but the club needed to bring in a professional DoF rather than having the normal fu** up combo of Levy and Hitchen who between the two of them couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo.

I am sure Nuno knows the score. The united front being presented, regarding Kane not going anywhere, is so we can negotiate our incoming transfer business without having asking prices artificially jacked up by other clubs, in the knowledge of an impending financial windfall from the Kane transfer money.

Good briefing H. Reading between the lines regarding our mooted transfer business, I came to the exact same conclusion that you did. The numbers don’t add up without a Harry Kane departure.

For obvious reasons neither City nor (especially) Spurs would want to announce the move now and I suspect it will occur right before the transfer deadline. Levy for sure wants to transact his incoming acquisitions without have asking prices artificially ‘jacked up’ in the face of a 9 figure Harry Kane financial windfall.

Regarding said windfall, whether some of that money goes towards debt servicing is a debatable point. Hopefully in the event of a return to full stadia this season and the recommencement of Joshua type events to be hosted at the new stadium it will not be necessary.

It’s also possible that Levy is ‘sandbagging’ a naming rights deal, until after the incoming transfer business has been concluded, for the exact same reason that he would hold off on announcing the Harry Kane transfer.

I’ve always said, money will be spent this season. Levy isn’t stupid, the moves occuring at this moment are purely based on self preservation.
For one, the longer we stay out of the top four, the further the valuation of the club diminishes (and the more difficult it becomes to get back up there) and for someone who wants to eventually sell the club he realizes he has to spend now to maximize future profits.
Secondly, if the culture becomes very toxic and antagonistic towards Levy, his position to hold on to the club would become difficult, putting him in a tough negotiating position (like Stan Kroenke) which would again diminish his returns.
The only issue in all of this is moving players on, and the more we can do that, the more incomings there’ll be.

We rely too much on Kane anyway, move him on so he wins trophies and build a team to enjoy and maybe one day, just one day, we may win something 😩

Deep down he knows, they all do…get a big enough offer and Kane goes….as long as he gets backed with good quality and at least one “top top player” (shout out to Redshnapps) then crack on…bored of it now..

If Kane goes and we get 4 or 5 very good players then so be it…I can no longer watch Winks and Lamela losing Europa games let alone what ever this other crap it is we are in…mix it up with the kids rather than playing the likes of Sissoko..no more, please….

Seems like Nuno has been told a Levy porky about Kane staying then. Welcome to Levyland Nuno.

Fan sentiment is at an all time low and if Kane leaves to fulfil his ambitions elsewhere then Levy is going to get even more of a kicking. A big name signing could go a long way to appeasing the fan base and I wonder could there be a smidgen of truth in the Greizman rumour. Levy is going to need more than a few prospects and back-up goalies.
