‘…an interesting challenge’ Journalist hints at concerns over one Spurs signing

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has improved its backline following the loan deal for FC Barcelona central defender Clément Lenglet. The France international will attempt to kick-start his career in north London after falling by the wayside with the Spanish club.

Despite coming to Spurs looking to find the past form that he had at Sevilla, ESPN’s Julien Laurens states although Lenglet faces the challenges of adapting to a new club and league, the defender could be a vital piece of the group.

“It’s an interesting challenge for [Lenglet]. Let’s see how he adapts to Conte, to the Premier League, and to the back three, but he could become very important for Tottenham,” Laurens said.

Lenglet will likely fill the role on the left side of manager Antonio Conte and play alongside Cristian Romero and Eric Dier. However, some reports that Spurs could be in the market for another defender to play the role and challenge the France international.

But for now, Ben Davies is the other option for Conte, but it will be interesting to see if Lenglet can rediscover his past form under the Italian tactician. However, if the French defender is the guy Spurs are banking on to hold down the position, then Laurens could be right.

Isn’t that him meeting Sonny first at the airport? If so he has put on some serious timber.

So not on the plane: Rodon (allegedly ill), Leglet (no visa), Winky, Regy, Gio, Tanguy.

Lol.. There’s still 55 odd days left until ‘Levy time’.. If he’s taken full control of this one transfer then I can see him stretching out negotiations until the final hours…

The all mighty emperor is the wrecker of all deals.
It was inevitable he would step in at some point and be the destroyer of any positive direction for the club.
He’s invariably clipped off the wings of the very people he brought on board to do a job who actually know what they’re doing.
But did we believe anything else would happen?
