Alli hasn’t been told how he can get back in the team

By Bruce Grove -

Dele Alli is in one of the worst positions any footballer can be in at the moment.

The Englishman has been frozen out of the Tottenham first team this season after several poor displays for the club.

Five years ago, he landed in north London and he took to the Premier League like a duck to water, however, today he is a player that cannot get a start.

Alli has been in decline over the past two years and it has now cost him his place in the starting XI.

The Englishman started Tottenham’s Europa League game against Royal Antwerp last Thursday, but he was hauled off at half time and no one knows when he will get another chance to play for the team again.

To make matters worse for him, Mirror Football is claiming that Jose Mourinho hasn’t sat down with the Englishman to explain to him where he stands.

In situations like this, the manager tells the player what he has to do to earn a place in the team.

However, the report says that conversation hasn’t happened between the player and his manager.

It claims that the Englishman is confused about his exile as he doesn’t know what is expected of him for things to change.

You guess right, Eddie. Avatar is probably the big giveaway though. You have a very valid point; and I guess I need to remember just how old I am now 😂

Everyone who watched the All or Nothing doc saw the part where he sat him down and told him what he needs from him. We also saw him called out for being lazy.

I’m taking a guess here and assuming you are middle aged as a minimum.I’m older than that, but the fact remains that peoples’ attitude to work has changed.
“Back in the day” we had a proper work ethic, and whilst I am not trying to generalise, the younger generation do tend to think that just turning up for work is sufficient.
Dele seems to fall into this catagory and for whatever reason can’t move onto the next level. It’s probably true that Poch indulged him,but there weren’t too many options to him not playing due to the lack of alternatives.

Agree regarding the lack of credibility of the Mirror.

First of all, it is incumbent on the disenchanted player to seek audience with the manager. A manager will usually oblige, with the minutes covered being privy to no others outside of the room.

However, I seriously think Dele might be out. Cannot say for certain, as Ndombele worked his way back in from the outskirts to be not only part of the squad, but integral to it.

Jose stated that if he wants a player out, THE PLAYER WILL KNOW IT. He left that in no uncertain terms.

As long as Dele is still training with the squad, he is not completely out. He may, however, be very close, as the winter window is just around the corner.

Jose is a direct guy. If Dele wants to know anything, Jose will tell him. There should not be ‘confusion.’

Sorry, but can we honestly believe anything that’s written in ‘The Mirror?’
Think we all know José isn’t shy in saying whatever he wants or thinks & Dele would surely knock on the mangers door & ask, if he hadn’t already had a conversation about it?
There’s recent pictures (Wed. 28/10) of Dele laughing & smiling in training, not the actions of someone who is ‘in the dark’ about anything.

Should that not be obvious to the lad? Don’t we all go to work everyday with the expectation that we’ll get out what we put in?
