“all sorted behind the scenes” – Reporter claims League winner is now “guaranteed to get the job”

Vincent Kompany, the former Manchester City captain and current Burnley manager, is being touted as a strong candidate to take over the Tottenham job in the summer.

Kompany, who has done an impressive job at Burnley, guiding them to the Premier League in his first full season, while transforming them into an attractive attacking football playing side.

A previous report suggested that Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy, fancies the Belgian as a long-term replacement for the recently departed Antonio Conte.

Andother report claimed that Kompany is open to a new challenge and is considering his options as he believes Burnley do not have the financial resources to compete in the Premier League.

While there is no official confirmation from Tottenham or Kompany, a recent report from reporter Marcus Buckland claims that the Belgian is “guaranteed to get the job” and that everything is “sorted behind the scenes”. Buckland did admit that the source of this information was unreliable, but given the multiple reports of Levy’s interest in Kompany, it cannot be ruled out.

Speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, he said:

“I was told by an unreliable source and I made that clear which upset a few Burnley fans, but I heard from this source that said that Vincent Kompany was 100 per cent guaranteed to get the job and it was all sorted behind the scenes.”

If appointed, Kompany would bring a refreshing approach to Tottenham’s style of play, transforming them into an attack-minded side that could excite the fans. With players like Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevski at his disposal, Kompany could get them playing attractive football next season.
