Tottenham identify 37-year-old as top managerial target who is ready to listen to offers

By Saikat -

Tottenham want to appoint the Burnley manager Vincent Kompany as the replacement for Antonio Conte.

The Italian was recently sacked and the North London club for looking to bring in a quality alternative.

A report from the Sun claims that the 37-year-old has now been identified as the main candidate to replace Conte, and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can secure an agreement with the Belgian.

Kompany has done an exceptional job at Burnley this season, and he has helped the Clarets secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Not only did he help Burnley navigate the Championship while performing at a high level, but he also managed to rebuild their squad and introduce an exciting style of football as well.

Burnley’s transformation under the Belgian seems to have caught the attention of Daniel Levy, who wants to bring in someone capable of transforming Tottenham as well.

The North London club have a talented squad at their disposal, and with the right additions, they could turn into genuine contenders in the coming seasons. Furthermore, the 37-year-old manager’s attacking approach could be suitable for the players at the club.

Some of the attacking players at Tottenham have not been at their best under Antonio Conte and the change of playing style could bring out the best in them once again.

Burnley were famous for their defensive approach and directness a few years ago, but the Clarets have executed an expansive brand of football this season. Tottenham fans will certainly be excited if Kompany can introduce a similar style of play at the North London club next season.

The report claims that Kompany is ready to listen to offers because he believes that Burnley do not have the financial resources to do well in the Premier League. It seems that the former Manchester City defender is open to a new challenge now.
