Alasdair Gold Asked Not To Focus On Individual Players: Is Nuno Paranoid? | video
By Harry Hotspur -

When asked about Tanguy Ndombele’s 90 minutes for Spurs last night, the Tottenham gaffer snapped, “No Alasdair, let’s try to avoid as much we can individual analysis”. Which is a curious reply to a perfectly reasonable question about a player that has been blowing hot and cold since the day we bought him.

Clearly, Nuno is wallowing in a work environment where casual remarks could be blown up and dissected with unfavourable consequences from this particular player. Seconds later, Nuno forgot himself and spoke about Harry Kane individually before clumsily correcting himself and repeating the \it’s all about the team’ mantra.

We got 90 mins last night to get 35 this W’end. if we’re lucky that is. Did it escape anyone’s notice that their two goals were down to N’Dombele losing the ball and then to add insult to it all not bothering to track or challenge for the next goal. So yes, Nuno it is worth talking about individual performances.

Finally. Too many Spurs fans extolling going 2-0 up and winning on penalties but completely ignoring the fact we gave away a 2 goal lead. Wolves made 9 changes from their defeat at the W’end and we made 5 and still barely scrapped through.

All’s still not good my friends.

Nuno does not cut an inspirational figure on the touchline. He seems very passive and this is a team that needs shaking up big time during certain phases of the game. With all this management speak about we need to work, work, work in the world-class training facilities please explain how after Dele Alli cost a goal last week by failing to pick up his man in the six-yard box from a corner, a week later Ndombele does exactly the same thing. It was almost an identical mistake. At this level of professional sport on the salaries, all of these guys are on that is just not acceptable and any manager should be called out big time on that by the press.

Why not just say something bland like “improving situation working well for the team”
then shut AG down with a “Next”

He really is hopeless at talking I can see why Levy didnt want him originally and why Paratici will be out of a job before the summer.

When you turn on the mild mannered Alasdair Gold you must be feeling the pressure.

To be fair to him I think this would be the stance of most managers. He said that they will deal with the individual issues privately. I don’t think it’s helpful for them to start discussing individual plays with the media if they have issues.

I’m not sure what else he’s supposed to say, just because the media want something meaty to speculate and fabricate a story around, isn’t really a good enough reason.

We are all grown ups, there obviously fitness issues and Tangy is an ongoing conundrum. The football side of the club is run abysmally, we all know this stuff. Personally, I feel his response was fairly standard.

“The football side…..” why ruin a perfect response by adding that? It is time to enjoy or be disappointed by what is happening on the pitch.

it is not ruining, it is stating facts why it bothers you to shed a light always the failure of the football side of the business blaming manager and players we been there and done for about +20 years the problem is not the pitch every sane person should find out by now the rest is history cheers.

Scored his goal then decided that was his contribution done for the night. Still, I suppose we can class that as progress considering the last few weeks.

I feel like he needs to be on £500 per week, with a £199,500 bonus for scoring over a 6 out of 10 for his performance!

hahaha HH what answer possibly he can give about let’s say Kane and N’Dombele who don’t want to be there it is out of his hands he doesn’t want to upset his employers. he is in a tough situation where he can’t express himself so he has to be vague all the time and that’s where his frustration and fans irritation comes from cheers.
