Emerson Royal’s father and agent has opened up to the possibility of his client leaving Tottenham this summer.
Emerson has proved to be disappointing signing since completing a deadline day £26million transfer from Barcelona in 2021.
Royal has been Tottenham’s first-choice right-back for most of the season, despite not being in his best form.
However, recent games have seen new signing Pedro Porro take his place in the starting lineup, with Royal featuring mainly as a substitute.
Tottenham were at the end of a humiliating 6-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle on Sunday who scored 5 past them in the first 20 minutes.
And Emerson Royal’s agent was there to rub salt in their wounds by claiming that he wants his client to take a “bigger leap” and move to a team “that fights for titles”.
He also suggested that a giant club like Real Madrid would be a great fit for the right-back.
Speaking on the Charla Podcast (via Express), Emerson Zulu said:
“There is a great possibility that Emerson will leave Tottenham. We want that, we believe it’s time for him to take a bigger leap and go to a team that fights for titles. A giant. I think he fits Real Madrid.”
The comment by his father has not been well received by fans and rightly so considering how average he has been since joining Spurs.
With Pedro Porro now their first choice right back, Spurs fans will not lose any sleep if he is to leave in the summer.
