Report: Antonio Conte feels let down by Tottenham squad following recent performances

Tottenham Hotspur sees their top-four hopes slipe away as they’ve lost four of their last five Premier League fixtures. Following their latest defeat to Burnley, manager Antonio Conte questioned his future with the north London club.

Nonetheless, behind closed doors, Football.London reports that Conte has felt let down by some of the squad’s performances, including the latest loss to Burnley.

“How the same starting XI that tore the champions Manchester City apart on numerous occasions on Saturday could struggle to barely make a dent in a team battling against relegation a few days later has brought plenty of frustration to the coaching staff,” Football.London stated.

Tottenham could only muster up two shots on target against a team fighting relegation, which is a steep contrast to the five they were able to put on on the Premier League-leading Manchester City.

After defeating Manchester City, some would’ve believed that the victory could serve as a catapult to put them back in the fight for a top-four finish. Nonetheless, that now looks bleaker and bleaker as it appears as though another season without Champions League football.

Conte has another year left on his contract, so it will be interesting to see whether he stays past these next few months.

Forget Champions League, Spurs won’t see the Champions League for a long time.

Well Conte let me down by starting Royal, subbing on Winks and by encouraging them to dick around with the ball at the back on every goal kick, regardless of the fact we are rubbish at handling a high press.

Best coach in the world my ar*e! 😛

You cant take teams away to Northern clubs and expect to win playing tippy tappy football. You need plenty of physicality, especially in the midfield. Winks is the worst symptom of that. Spurs have never offered that stability, which gives us only 4 wins in Liverpool in almost 100 years and not much better at Old Trafford and Leeds. (note for tomorrow). Lose tomorrow and Conte will walk, especially after Leeds took a 6-0 trouncing at Anfield.
