Quite why Pierre Hojbjerg isn’t Spurs’ captain is one of the most baffling aspects of a club, which is riddled with baffling issues. Firstly, goalkeepers as captains are a rare occurrence for good reason, and secondly, Hugo Lloris may be a World Cup winner, at Tottenham his captaincy has overseen zero trophies.
There’s also a compelling argument to make based upon the Dane’s deeds as well as the way he speaks to the press. If Spurs had a team full of Pierre’s, it is easy to believe that we’d be the envy of the division.

When Kane insisted he start in the European Cup Final though half-fit after Spurs played a blinder against Ajax is the reason we are in trouble. Kane limped towards a player in possession several times against Man U without getting stuck in as he has before. Too many of the players are spoilt brats, sulking through training and games and we need a clear out, including know-all Levy who signed most of them as they were the cheaper option. Sound business sense naturally. And of course it is the nasty managers fault.
The argument for speaking out to the press can’t really be used against Lloris though, he’s said similar since the United match and has done several times before. Not against Hojbjerg being captain at all but unsure it would make any difference, or increase his influence on the pitch. He’s already a leader out there, it’s just a shame some of them can’t be led.
