Mourinho talks about the pressures facing Harry Kane at the Euro’s

Jose Mourinho has backed Harry Kane to fire England to win the Euros this summer as he continues to be robbed of a trophy at club level.

Kane has been one of the world’s best strikers and scores goals consistently for Tottenham and the England national team.

Yet the England captain doesn’t have team trophies in his cabinet and has had to deal with just winning individual honours.

He was the top scorer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup as England reached the semi-final stage of the competition.

He also featured for Tottenham in the Champions League final a year later, but they lost to Liverpool.

These are two of several occasions when he has come close to breaking his trophy drought.

He falls short each time and the Euros present him with another opportunity to win something.

England has some of the competition’s best players and they will play most of their matches at home including the semi-final and the final if they reach that stage of the competition.

Mourinho believes now is a good time for them to win the competition.

Mourinho said as quoted by Sun Sports: “Harry (Kane) is the one that has on his shoulders a lot.

“The country expects a lot from him. He expects a lot from himself.

“He’s the captain and he wants to win something. He’s not doing that with the club, so, of course, he’s going to try everything he can to do it with the Three Lions.”

Most of the English talent coming through will be spurs players

Sure, Southgate’s a terrible manager.

England have a FAR BETTER chance of some real success in the years ahead with the talent coming through than the Spurs, in my view, who look distinctly non runners under cruddy management.

England nearly always have a chance; look at GREECE! But this time, with a lot of our matches at home and other clubs travelling around Europe picking up covid, I really fancy our chances. The key for me are the rounds of 16 and 8 and the draw we get; avoid a tough away one and negotiate our way through to the semis and I reckon we shall go on and lift the trophy. We have plenty of attacking talent, for sure, though we perhaps need Sterling to rediscover his best form. Centre back would be where my concerns are.

Can anyone explain why Southgate has played Jessie Lingard in the past two warm up matches when he’s not even in the squad 🤷🏽‍♂️🤔

We’ve got more chance of winning something than the three lions. England ain’t good enough to win anything. But then again Denmark won it
