We just need to find the right manager and to invest in some quality players which we will do. A well oiled machine is what’s needed. We’ll get there

Winning a big cup won’t take an eternity. We nearly won the big cup not spending. Give the new lane a chance man. Yep ENIC ain’t about taking risks with their money we all know that but we’re about our money now. ENIC ain’t helping us and never have done. We will get to the promise land again man. No more property to buy now. Don’t cuss me for my views and I won’t cuss you for yours. Agree to disagree.

Not everyone sees it the way you do. Nothing wrong with our club shop merch (good quality) what decent merch did you buy from the old shops? Vexes you coz theres more variety? Kids love it in there. You’re making out everything has dramatically changed. Visiting the club shop is unessential? Oh please. Complaining coz the quality of food is better at the new place. Damn man. Variety options choices is what lifes all about. The food at the new place is lovely. Comparing going to a game with a stroll down the kings rd? Damn man. So only CL games are worth watching? Belittling the European cup that we’ve won a few times is just wrong. Jumping on the tube traveling to a game is part of it.tourists love the tube. I don’t know anyone that thinks like you. Comparing the London stadium to the new lane is absolute nonsense. So what if the new lane ain’t dripping with history yet. Damn man. Tottenham Hotspur football team play there, it’s them I’ve come to see not a bl00dy stadium. You’re missing the point. I go to see the family not their house. When I go to watch the team with my lady we get their a bit early, have a bit a grub (cheesy chips with spicy wings with some local brew then we settle down to watch my team play. I dont have to its an option.I really don’t understand you. Things change. The peanut man has gone along with rattles and rosettes. Unless ENIC put a decent team out and step up their game bla bla bla? What’s it gotta do with them? They’ve never helped the club. Its up to Tottenham to put a strong team in there and we will. I don’t even know why you bother mentioning them. Conte? FCK him. Tottenham Hotspur football club is dripping with history. Nearly 140 years worth. 120 years before bl00dy ENIC even got here. Stop making out ENIC are bigger than Tottenham. Our match day revenue streams have massively changed. If you want an old school football experience you should come down to Coles park and watch Haringey borough (brilliant by the way) you may think watching tottenham is a waste of time but many don’t. I love watching my team play. With all due respect by the way. Things will get better. Kane’s bigger than the club is he? If he ain’t here it ain’t worth going? You and I are so different

Rangers ain’t that big a club man. Top three in the English premiere league? Never. 3rd Largest fan bases in the UK? Apart from Scottish people I don’t no any rangers fans (proper ones) I’m a Celtic man myself. Yep it was inevitable they were gonna come back. I’m trying to think of any rangers players we’ve signed. Gordon durie. Ranger only big in Scotland. Mid table outfit here if you ask me. Gerrard doing fine work there.

Junkies we might be, mugs we ain’t. Call it ‘moaning’ but smaller crowds is the only thing that will get these blood sucking owners to sit up and take note. I think many people will stay away until there’s something decent happening.

Several lifelong fans, some have been coining in here who’ve been going every week for 65 years won’t be renewing next season. There some seriously upset fans out there i’m afraid…

Very ‘enjoyable’ if slightly depressing vlog HH. The point about Levy being analog in a digital world is the perfect way to sum this up.

Think how long ago the stadium concept was first worked out, I’d hazard a guess and say at the very least 10 years, probably more like 15-20 years ago. A few on here are probably old enough to remember 10-20 years ago fairly clearly, would any of us envisaged the world we currently live in? (forget Covid, vaccines will render it less deadly than seasonal flu, if it hasn’t already in some countries like the UK, Israel etc).

Club shops used to be the only place to get decent club merch, the internet makes a visit to the club shop completely unessential. Ok, so the stadium sells more than Pukka Pies and warm cans of fizzy pop, or slightly sweaty bagels wrapped in Cling Film. Is any of the above going to transform our match day revenue streams so staggeringly?

So, we get to season tickets and other match day ticket sales. Watching Spurs live is an expensive day out, as expensive as watching Champions League winners Chavski.

If you’re a tourist visiting London you need to decide where you spend your hard earned on your day at the football. You’re a neutral, you have little emotional attachment but you are a potential lifelong fan, waiting to be snaffled up. Right now, those people are going to choose a trip down the Kings Road. Not schlep some distance from your central London base to watch that team with the big stadium that play in the Dopey Conference League.

Right now, we are only marginally ahead of the Spammers and The Olympic Park as a place to go and watch football, sell Kane and I’m struggling to understand why a neutral would even make the trip. Sorry but this is the reality of the present.. They aren’t visiting an oldy world English football stadium dripping in history either. I’m scratching my head wondering where the marketability of this hole thing actually is at the moment.

Unless ENIC step up their game and put an elite football setup inside the elite stadium then this isn’t going to get any better. Conte not taking it on is the perfect barometer of where Levy sees our direction of travel. This isn’t getting any better any time soon…

The Sun describes Conte’s demands of 100 million as staggering! Not so staggering really if we’re supposed to be one of the Big Six and have an uninspiring squad needing a real makeover.

I wonder if Conte’s had a word with Jose and the Portuguese has told him “I couldn’t believe how average many of the players were; I have to hand it to Poch getting that lot up there previously”

Yes, I can indeed see the risks but the reason we’re in tis situation and will therefore continue to be starved of any real success is because we spent so much on the sodding stadium. No going back now, either way, spend or no spend, we appear to be screwed! Thanks a lot, baldy, it’s been a great ride seeing our footballing dreams evaporate under your nevertheless handsomely rewarded stewardship.

With respect, Tappa’s, Rangers are historically Scotland’s biggest club and actually a much bigger club than Celtic once they’ve got their finances sorted. My main programme supplier in Scotland, a Hibs fan and no lover of Rangers, has told me that people down south just don’t realize what a massive club the Glasgow outfit are. He told me that with an expanded stadium they’d get 70,000 a week in the Premiership and would finish top three every year; Celtic, he reckons, would finish about 10th. Not sure that there’s quite that big a gap in potential between Rangers and Celtic and the Gers would have to be well managed to finish top three every year, which is not a given.I also wonder whether he may just be overstating their size, too. While I can well imagine them to have one of the three largest fan bases among UK clubs in the English speaking world, they are surely not much of a draw (or Celtic) in the emerging Asian markets where Scottish football surely doesn’t make much of an impression. But Rangers were always going to come back in Scotland, as surely as night follows day, given the size of their support.

The clubs you mention above are spending this kind of money when they already have good sides! We’ve got an awful lot to do to catch up and old baldy, bless him, seems to be sticking to his plan that some manager can come in and wave a magic wand and make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear with the present crop of players with just the odd signing. Good luck with that one, baldy; you’ll need it!

Everyone gets a chance at a return.
But with the current plan to get where we are, to say winning a title could take an eternity.
Remember last summer the side that spent £222m won the Champions league a another who spent £138m won the title ontop of have been spenders.
Winning is costly, covid doesn’t help but ambition the desire to win rather than just avoid loosing is needed and should be the dna of the club.
Bravery isn’t the accountants motto they’re more about risk minimisation, but football isn’t like other businesses.
Paying top prices for game, merchandise etc should be matched by the club.
But the running of the football side of things which proper fans truly care about is two bob regardless of the veneer the stadium and training centres try to make.
I’m sure there will be better moments, but if the ambition of the chairman/part owner is only the ambition of his pockets, we’ve found our level after a glimpse of a promised land.

As long
as we have levy, spurs will remain in a sound financial footing. No chance of going bust like inter. Conte’s demands of money for 35 year players would have been a boom and bust for spurs. Sad some of our fans cannot see the risks with conte’s demands.

Richard David Bernard Taylor

Unfortunately, even likelier if we go out and buy some players! All our money was blown filling the pockets of perhaps the most parasitical footballing CEO in history with his property portfolio. Six million pounds a year of Spurs money for this guy who, from a footballing point of view, is a monumental dunce.

So it’s 50 million(?) then to revitalize the squad plus another 50 million (half) of HK’s transfer fee if he leaves. Should be challenging for the title next season then, eh? Hardly surprising that a serial winner like Conte, ultimately, was n’t interested in working for our cock up merchant!

Bruno in Obidos told me that the Portuguese clubs are largely run by mafia types and they actually like small attendances, with just the real hard core present, because they won’t ask any awkward questions about their activities. Fans who attend matches are being marginalised as there are now live streams to India etc and the emerging markets. Football REALLY isn’t much of a sport any longer but a corporate business and the plaything of some of the most hideous creatures on the planet (can such hideous beings per chance be found at Tottenham?)

I think that’s the plan. To detach people from what they love and are passionate about. It’s easier to replace it then.
A new world is emerging. It won’t be pretty.

So many people are know are becoming detached from football. Maybe it’s the time away due to covid, perhaps life’s stinging realities with what’s happening in the world. People are becoming more cynical about football and that committed loyalty that clubs have leeched on for so long is at its most vulnerable right now in my opinion.

The most terrifying thing for me is that in the not to distant future, we the fans, may stop caring altogether

Re allowing the Poch and Conte talks/rumours to enter the public domain. I have zero doubt it was to get the season ticket renewals done however it was a tactic that has now left disastrous consequences for Levy.

The journo have been duped but the commentary around levy not matching Contes ambition has revealed ENICs cards to the world. What integrity do they have left now the fans know that the club doesn’t want to invest to WIN. How can fans buy into the club anymore with this attitude.

The worst decision levy cud have made was going in for Conte. The man is in his managerial prime, winning trophies, what a lack of respect levy showed him by not promising him the faith that he could deliver if funded properly. Levy simply should have stayed well clear of Conte because this has humiliated him and the club.

Richard David Bernard Taylor
Richard David Bernard Taylor

Forgive me, Harry, if you have by chance already mentioned this on a previous blog, but I have just learned that the talks with Conte floundered on demands from the Italian of a transfer kitty of 100 million pounds, which seems a reasonable demand to me from the Italian and surely the minimum amount we need to enable us to climb up the table again. Levy strikes again! Of course, to be perfectly honest, I don’t really know what we can afford with debt levels I personally find frightening and, being a little Victorian in my attitude to debt, immoral, all as a result of building an entertainments venue with the football club’s money. Hideous, the whole thing!
