Report – Talks between Tottenham star and French giants gathering pace

Serge Aurier is inching closer to a return to PSG as talks between the full-back, Spurs and the French side gather steam.

The Ivorian has been at Tottenham since 2017 when he moved from the French Ligue 1 holders.

He has hardly looked assured in the colours of Tottenham since that move and he might leave them in the summer.

He could have left Spurs at the start of this season when they signed Matt Doherty from Wolves.

However, the Republic of Ireland international hasn’t been an upgrade to Aurier which has forced Spurs to keep using the Ivorian.

Foot Mercato says there have been contacts between both teams and the talks are making excellent progress.

Although he was signed for around £22.5m in 2017, the report states Spurs will hope to make £10m from his sale.

With his contract expiring Spurs will want to offload him now so they can at least make some money from his sale.

Mauricio Pochettino signed Aurier and the same report claims the Argentinean is more than happy to be reunited with him in France.

If the 28-year-old leaves, Spurs will need a new right-back as Doherty has proven to be very unreliable.

If he stays at the club until a new manager arrives and likes him, he might earn a new contract.

If we get £45mil for the pair we’ve done well. Both internationals. Sanchez with verts alongside guiding was pretty brilliant. Eric has always been rubbish, I’ll give him some credit though. As a midfielder he has the knack of always being in space. Does FCK all constructive in that space when receiving the ball. He’d be a good signing for Norwich

Japh and Rodon are the future. Don’t worry about mason, he’ll be back with the development squad soon enough.

Perhaps we can offer a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal and bung in Doherty as well for them?

I was going to call Mason a company man, but hes nothing but a company snowflake. Rodon has been Franz Bekenbauer compared to Dier. The season is a write off, what has Mason got to lose by giving Rodon game time. Rodon aint going anywhere.

Well if PSG want to make sure they never win The Champions League then Aurier is the perfect right back.

Mason lining himself up for the ENIC PR manager role. Soul sold. What he said about our defence proves he’s either completely clueless or has completely lost the plot.

Roden has slipped down the pecking order:-

According to Ryan Mason during his pre- Wolves presser, the reason why Joe Rodon has not been selected is that he has “slipped down the pecking order”. Exactly what pecking order exists at THFC as far as CB’s are concerned is a subject for conjecture and I would suggest a wry smile of derision from the supporters. In the virtual reality world that Mason now appears to occupy Eric Dier that titan at the heart of the Spurs defence against Leeds last week is apparently a preferred choice. One can only assume that Mason has had some form of an episode of temporary amnesia or match blindness that has erased the fact that Dier had a hand in every one of the three goals conceded to Leeds along with many others throughout the season that when added up may well amount to the difference between European or no European football next season. Just to add some relish to the sauce of his commentary in the presser he added that Daniel Levy and the Board have achieved so much for the club over the past twenty years. At that point feeling the murmurings of a gag reflex, I left by the nearest exit.
