Gareth Bale wants to return to Real Madrid and end his time with the Spanish side, on a high, according to AS.
The Welshman joined Tottenham on loan for the rest of this season after a tough spell at Real Madrid.
He had been sidelined at the Spanish side because Zinedine Zidane didn’t consider him good enough to play for his team.
Bale was rescued from his Madrid hell by Spurs, but he is only in London on loan.
He is yet to hit top gear as Spurs would have liked, and making the move permanent will be subject to that.
He has a goal each in the Premier League and the Europa League, but for the money that Spurs are paying for his services, he has to do more.
The report says that Zidane is Bale’s problem at Madrid and as it appears that the Frenchman might be fired or resign, Bale wants one more season in Spain.
After this campaign, he would have a season left at the club and he wants to make that count.
Madrid would be happy to sell Bale, but Spurs will struggle to pay all his current wages with the Spanish side and he might not want to take a pay cut to move back to England permanently.

Bale&ndom playing full games strong second half of the season. José knows what he’s doing
Last hurrah in China anyone?
Yup, follow the money Gaz.
The Spanish press were burning effigies of the guy, just weeks ago…
Er… I told you that some time ago!
My sauce at the Daily Express tells me that GB was a Levy vanity project ok’d by JM whereas PEH was a JM project.
Go figure.
If it wasn’t the Daily Express I would ignore it but this one has legs.
@coys1882
I utterly agree!
Stop speeding this fake news propaganda!
The very definition of ‘fake news!’ The idea that Bale wants to return to Real Madrid is patently absurd. He is very happy to be back at Spurs, his body language and everything about his demeanour, since he has returned to the club, attests to that fact. He is closer to his family in the UK and is finally happy again to be playing at a club where he is loved and respected by the fans. The Spanish report is frankly a load of cobblers and not worth regurgitating.
Jose just needs to play him to allow him to build up a rhythm and integrate into the team. He’s not as pacey as Stevie B but ffs, he needs to to play more.
