Rodon reaction to Wales conceding a goal is what we want to see

One player that Spurs fans don’t know much about is Joe Rodon.

The defender signed for the Lilywhites late into the last transfer window after the club struggled to sign a new defender for much of the window.

He had been at Swansea all his footballing life before making the move and his qualities while in England’s second-tier had already earned him a place in the Wales national team.

He hasn’t exactly seen playing time at Tottenham this season, but he was called up by the Wales national team for this Novembers international games.

The defender is a reliable player for Wales and he seems to have the mentality needed to thrive at elite club level.

Wales beat Finland 3-1 in their last UEFA Nations League game last night and it was a result that should have been celebrated.

The goal that the Finns scored was only possible after Rodon missed his header and the ball dropped for Teemu Pukki to score.

Wales Online has now revealed that despite the win, Rodon was distraught for allowing the goal.

It claims that Wales had not conceded a goal in over 700 minutes of international football and the defender didn’t care that they won the game because he always demands perfection from himself.

That is the exact sort of attitude that Jose Mourinho wants in his players and Rodon is showing that he fits the profile demanded by the Portuguese.

That can only be a good thing for Spurs.
