Final Piece Of Transfer Puzzle In Place, Spurs Could Announce New Signing In Days

Joe Rodon heat map for 2019/20 season

According to WalesOnline, Tottenham’s last deal of the summer window could be close to completion, as Swansea City have identified a potential replacement for Joe Rodon.

My understanding from a source close to Tottenham, is that The Swans are hoping to secure Manchester City’s centre-back Joel Latibeaudiere, on a free transfer deal, and once this is a done deal, then and only then would Rodon be free to join José Mourinho’s repair job.

Joe is yet another sound move by the Portuguese. The 22-year-old is an academy product of the Welsh side, and precisely the sort of forward thinking move one would expect from José. Joe’s stats for last season make for happy reading. An 88.7% successful passing accuracy, 75.8% total successful actions, 58.5% successful dribbling success, 71.6% successful defensive duels, 48.4% successful sliding tackles, and 58.5% aerial duels won.

How much might Rodon cost Tottenham? Spurs have been told that he is valued at upwards of £15million, but they are looking to drive down that price.

I take a look at our transfer activity in my latest show…

I don’t think this boy is the final piece that would have been Skriniar.
Before we sign him I want to see him on trial jumping against Vinicius to ensure he is not another Leadboots.

He looks a bit like cover for lesser matches for me, would be great if he develops into something special.

You’re right,Levy does have previous with busting dummies, however I think this is a Jose choice as an alternative over Skriniar. It will be a big step up and he’s not as experienced, however he is an international and apparently the Welsh boys rate him.Let’s see.
I thought Leicester, spammers and Everton were also interested.

I think Levy just wouldn’t pay the fee requested by Inter. Fair enough under current circumstances of course as the market has plummeted, I just hope we don’t come to regret it. Maybe he’ll revisit the player in January – who knows?

Yeah you’re probably right, Skriniar would have been the final piece of the jigsaw only in an ideal world. I can always handle more excitement if it’s world class!

Skriniar would have been exciting. Don’t you think we’ve had enough excitement for one transfer window? 🤪

I think Ruben Dias was Mourinho’s first choice but we couldn’t afford him and City bought him. Inter played hard ball over Skriniar as a result of Levy’s stance over the Eriksen transfer. Leicester and West Ham are reportedly in the running for Rodon, and I thought Swansea might take CCV in part exchange for him.

The fact remains of course that he is currently a C-Ship player so playing at a lower level, so there will always be an element of risk. I believe Skriniar was Mou’s first choice but he was unattainable in this window, hence a bit of a panic to find someone – anyone. I hope we don’t make the mistake that has been made countless times in the past, that of thinking we have saved money only to find that the player is not good enough, has to be sold at a loss, and someone else found to replace him. Levy has massive past form for this as we all know. Hopefully on this occasion the player will actually come good. Why is nobody else in for him?
